I’m So Excited to Announce that I’m officially joining the Murder Mystery Company as paid performer at American Immersion Theater.

I never believed in myself that I could work as an actress professionally. (I thought it was always a “pipe dream”)

I feel in love with theater in middle school when cast as Patrick Dennis in Mame at a local community theater and always have enjoyed being in many local community theater productions around Maryland.

I always dreamed of being able to do this professionally but never had the confidence to put myself out there in more professional setting.

Fast forward to last Sunday when I went to a professional audition on a whim- thinking I wouldn’t even get a call back.

I memorized the monologue and showed up- it was sooo overwhelming and my time slot alone had around 30 people in it.

I did my piece- felt good about it then had anxiety kick in after and doubted that I’d get called back at all.

Monday morning:
I awoke to an email…. I dreaded opening it thinking once again that I wasn’t good enough and when I finally got the courage to open it- I was exhilarated to learn I’d been called back Tuesday evening.

My ticket into callbacks was to memorize a paragraph of dialogue in either British, Southern, or New York accent- I chose Southern.

I worked hard got it down and went a 2 hour callback session where I had so much fun and thought again that I probably wouldn’t be cast.

Fast forward to Weds when got the best news Weds that I had cast.
I actually did a double take when I saw “welcome to the troupe.”

All this to say ultimately:

“Never doubt yourself and always believe your dreams can come true.”

I a beaming from ear to ear and hopefully I’ll be coming to a murder near you- lol

Meet the Trainer:

Hi or Woof,

I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer with over a decade of training experience.

I specialize in service dog training, pet dog obedience, therapy dog training, and I’m one of the only dog trainers in the Maryland area that uses force free/ fear free behavior modification training for fearful and aggressive dogs without the use of prong collars or shock collars.

I am also one of the only dog trainers in Maryland who utilizes a service dog themselves.
I bring a unique understanding to service dog training and ADA access rights/challenges .

When not training dogs, I enjoy playing with my three standard poodles and participating in community theatre.

Positive reinforcement training isn’t just about giving your dog a treat every time they do something right—it’s a thoughtful communication system rooted in trust, clarity, and motivation.

While food rewards are common (and super effective), positive reinforcement is much broader than snacks. It can include:

▪ Verbal praise
▪ Playtime or a favorite toy
▪ Permission to sniff or go explore
▪ Access to something your dog wants (like going outside or greeting a friend)

It’s not about bribing your dog—it’s about reinforcing behaviors you want to see more of, in a way that’s meaningful to your individual dog. When done right, this style of training teaches your dog that they have the power to earn good things by making great choices.

And here’s the kicker—positive reinforcement requires just as much structure, consistency, and strategy as any other training method. The difference? Your dog becomes an enthusiastic participant rather than just following orders. You’re building behavior and the relationship.
