Just to let you all know I have joined together with See Spot Spoiled who boards, dog walking and more. I work with them to train the dogs if the client is looking for that.

My name is Wendy Michelsen and I have grown up with many dogs throughout my lifetime from St. Bernards to Bassett Hounds. I now have four wonderful dogs rescued from a local shelter. One of them I have trained to be a Therapy Dog, and he clearly loves his job. My family often asked me, in the past, why was I working in insurance instead of working with dogs. With their support and encouragement, I finally made the leap and attended Animal Behavioral College and got the training and certification required for my career as a dog trainer. Each dog and owner is unique, and we work together to address particular behavioral issues. The work is very rewarding as the dogs and owners experience success. I have trained dogs using an E-Collar, but find leash training is very important in keeping control of your dog. The E-Collar works well, for example, if you are a hiker and want to feel a little bit more in control while letting your dog run. I have come to learn that the "Four P's" are essential in dog training: Patience, Perseverance, staying Positive and Practice (lots of Practice!). I believe all dogs can be taught, it’s the owners I worry about! As much as I love working with the dogs, I also enjoy working with their owners.
Every dog and owner who I have the pleasure of working with I approach as a challenge as well as an adventure.
