How do you spend your Saturday off from an adoption event? Was hoping for some rest, time with family, and some self-care, but in the rescue world, every day is a new challenge!

This brave girl needs your prayers! We rushed her to the vet, investing two hours in uncovering the root of her struggles - she's not eating or drinking much. After thorough blood work, x-rays, and exams, we received medication and are anxiously awaiting the lab results. Just three hours later, we're back at the emergency vet, determined to nurse this sweet baby back to health! With the labradoodle puppies' recent emergencies, including losing one and fighting for the other's life after ingesting rat poisoning, and now this girl's critical situation, our financial resources are stretched thin.

Yet, our commitment to providing top-notch care for our fosters remains unwavering. Your assistance is crucial in helping us cover these unexpected expenses.

👀 notice something about this photo? Yup that right all black or dark colored puppies! 🐶 Did you know that black colored animals aren’t usually wanted by people? 🖤 Why you ask? Here are some reasons:

1. ▪️Black Dog Syndrome (BDS) is the theory that black doggies are passed over for adoption due to societal beliefs that they look more intimidating or scary.
2. ▪️Because they have black fur and it can be seen easier on furniture, clothing, or around the house.
3. ▪️Superstitions: Just like with black cats, people may think that black dogs also bring bad luck. Black animals are often associated with bad omens.
4. ▪️“Black dog” is used as a metaphor for depression.
5. ▪️The facial expressions of black dogs are often harder to capture in photographs. Since adoption shelters will post pictures of their dogs, black dogs may be overlooked due to their photo not appealing emotionally with potential adopters.

UPDATE ON CHIKO, AS I TYPE THIS TEARS ARE FLOWIING DIWN MY FACE BUT THIS IS THE UPDATE EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR WITH BATED BREATH 😬.

I received a text message that shook me to my core, a stark reminder of the high stakes of caring deeply. The text brutally revealed that Chiko was being led away to a place where hope seemed lost, a reality that hit me hard. I felt an overwhelming sense of desperation wash over me as I thought of the sweet boy's fate hanging precariously in the balance, with no foster or adopter in sight to offer a lifeline. Jordan and I had just shared our exhaustion and frustration, our emotional reservoirs depleted, with 14 precious fosters under our care and none of our dogs finding forever homes. The weight of Chiko's potential fate was crushing, as he enthusiastically anticipated a new lease on life, only to be heartbreakingly misled. Chiko's interest in finding a forever home seemed to wane in the face of such bleak prospects. Time seemed to stand still as I grappled with the devastating news, mere seconds ticking by like hours. My body betrayed me, wracked with sobs, tremors, and nausea, my senses dulled by the sheer force of emotion. Yet, I summoned the strength to reach out to Jordan, my partner in every sense, and conveyed the unbearable truth in tears: Chiko was being walked to his final destination……

I said Jordan I can’t let this one go and I’m going to pull him!! I hung on the phone with her bc i new timest ticking fast away against me! I i shot over to the email app and I sent them the fastest email I’ve ever sent them the words are as follow “ Wait we can pull Chiko” it took them a few minutes to respond and I got an email back and it states as follows “That would be awesome! Who is coming to pick up, and when are they coming? We are open 7:30 to 11:30 AM, and 1 to 4:30 PM today and tomorrow. “

I've achieved something truly remarkable! I've saved Chiko's life while simultaneously preparing for my students tomorrow - a decision that would have haunted me forever if I'd chosen otherwise.

Tomorrow, he'll be picked up and begin his journey to Rucker Dog Training for sign language instruction. Now, we're faced with a new challenge: raising $1350 for his training and finding a foster or adopter. UPDATE #2 DAISY HAS FOUND HER HOME

Update on Daisy 🌼

Daisy is ready to find her FOREVER home! 🏠

Daisy has finally settled in at Jordan and really starting to feel her self!

Meet DAISY!

From a Volunteer:

While we were at Cherokee County Animal Shelter on Thursday afternoon, this devastated doodle came in the front door as an owner surrender. She was so shut down after she watched her mom walk out the door without her. Shelter Director Renae Goggans was in the Intake building at the time. After seeing her hug the walls in sheer terror, she attempted to console her, then picked her up to take her to the Triage room. She had the p**p scared out of her, literally.

We visited as Daisy was checked in, she was not interested in any treats or a pup cup. All she wanted was to go home with her mom. Why was she there? What did she do wrong? She's a good girl. When is her mom coming back to get her? Whats happening now? All the barking, the people, missing her bed, her own toys, the comfort food she eats every day. Welcome to shelter life, Daisy. Mom is not coming back.

As soon as Jordan got the text, she jumped into the car and went and rescued this sweet girl!! She is absolutely petrified 💔 as soon as we opened the car door she couldn’t get in fast enough! She thought she was going to her home 🏠 😢 she has absolutely captured our hearts! This girl deserves a radiant future!!

Daisy has made such a complete 360 since the day we got her out of the shelter! However In Daisy’s situation it would be best if she goes directly from the foster to her new adopter. The movement we do the quicker she shuts back down!

UPDATE #2 Ozzy got to come home to Jordan’s yesterday and he took a turn for the worse so she rushed him back to the emergency vet! He is receiving fluids!

She said they were the runts of the litter and I guess she didn’t want to fool with them 💔 . But a compassionate vet saw their potential and reached out to us, and we answered with hope!

Continue to fight for Chiko!

Something about a special needs dog! His time is just about up and he has had no interest in him at all! He is truly pulling on my heart strings and has me crying at night, not sleeping trying to figure out a way to save him!

I’ve reached out to Rucker Dog Training and they work with deaf dogs! Their training is lifetime! He will be at training for 3 weeks but the funding is going to cost us a lot and we will need a foster/adopter to continue to work on his training!

Is there anyone who would be willing to foster this sweet boy? He will probably be a long term foster but we do provide everything you will need!

Meet Sarah. Location!! Bartow county animal control in Cartersville Ga. Rescue needed!!

Sarah was picked up as a stray and is severely emaciated!! She is 3 yrs old and only 35 lbs. This poor girl has been starving and probably surviving on whatever she could find to eat on the streets. Urgent in Bartow county shelter in Cartersville Georgia, Rescue needed AS soon as possible,

She has 3 days to find rescue or she will be put down

Fonze is a very friendly, affectionate boy! He is about 2 years old and 35lbs. He is walking with a limp due to a paw injury. There are no cuts so he would need xrays to determine if there are any fractures. The vet thinks it is just a soft tissue injury.

Rescue commitment by 7/25/25 he is past his deadline he could be euthanized at any moment
