🐱 Happy National Feral Cat Day! 🐱
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on community catsand the lifesaving impact of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).

Baltimore County offers a free TNR program and sterilization package dedicated to humanely reducing the number of community cats living outdoors. The surgical package includes spay/neuter, Rabies and FVRCP (distemper) vaccines, microchipping, eartipping and a vet exam under sedation.

✨ Why TNR matters:
• Prevents breeding and unwanted litters
• Saves taxpayer dollars by reducing shelter intake
• Improves the health and quality of life for outdoor cats
• Reduces nuisance behaviors like spraying, fighting, howling, and roaming
• Protects public health by keeping the cats rabies vaccinated

📊 TNR by the numbers:
As of 9/30, BCAS has performed 780 TNR surgeries in 2025, with 387 surgeries in the last quarter alone!

Angel says... is it Friday yet?!😆

This sweet girl makes the silliest faces! Angel is a 5-year-old sweetheart who truly lives up to her name. Her foster says she's the absolute sweetest little love bug and makes the perfect quiet work-from-home partner!

More about Angel:
🐾 Crate-trained, though she’d much rather be snuggled in your lap
🐶 Shows polite interest in her foster’s resident male dog but would do best in a home without cats
🚗 Rides well in the car—just a little anxious
🍽️ No resource guarding, and responds well to gentle corrections at mealtime
🐕 Happy little “woos” when greeting foster dad are her only barks
😄 Makes the funniest faces—her lip often gets adorably stuck on her teeth!

🏡 Not ready to adopt? Fostering is an amazing way to help dogs like Angel. You provide the love and a temporary home, and we’ll provide the supplies and support.

A heartfelt happy tail from a shelter team favorite! Looks like Zoe is finally getting as much love as she gives and we couldn't be happier for her. ❤

"Hello! Just wanted to update you on Zoe! We adopted her from BCAS a month ago and we are so happy to have found the missing piece to our family. She fits in like she has been our dog from the very beginning. Even the vets have asked how long we have had her, because the trust she has for us is amazing. She is so obedient and well behaved, has just the right amount of energy and zoomies to play with our kids, and is the best snuggler. When considering adoption, is was a no brainer for us. Our family is pieced together through adoption through foster care, so when we knew it was time for a new dog for our family, we knew adoption was the answer. We had a Staffordshire terrier for 11 years previously, and are so blessed to have found Zoe, who has a very similar demeanor to our previous dog. She is the best! We also have a great relationship with Zoe's fosters - they even watched her for a weekend while we went on vacation and enjoyed snuggles! Thanks BCAS!" - Zoe's adopter

🐾 Dog’s Day Out! 🐾

Staff and volunteer favorite Petey had a blast on a recent daycation with one of our amazing dog-walking volunteers—we’re not sure who had more fun! 🐶 Afterward, the volunteer shared: “Thanks so much for letting us take Petey out. He’s an amazing dog, I see why he’s a staff favorite!”

Petey is about 2 years old and came to us as a stray. He’s a playful, social pup who loves tug-of-war, fetch (he even drops the toy!), and has done great in playgroups. This happy guy is ready to meet his forever family at BCAS!

🏡 We’re open for adoptions daily from 12–5 PM (arrive by 4:30) at 13800 Manor Road, Baldwin. Adoption fees are currently waived!

This adopter assembled the most beautiful girl gang of kitties!

"I adopted 3 cats from you. 2 in July & 1 in August. I adopted Spirit from Petsmart& kept her name~ I came to animal control to adopt Marcella also her name from the shelter. Miss Ann did wonders with her as she was shut down at the shelter. She has turned into a perfect family member. Last we came out to the shelter& adopted Bea renamed Carrie. "We adopted Thor back in Nov of 2023 and Bayne (fka Jay) this April. Thor was a sad, sweet, needy 9 month old when we brought him home. He became our shadow and protector, wanting nothing more than to be with us. The world told us we needed a companion for Thor by showing us Bayne (fka Jay) and I dropped everything to do a meet and greet to make sure Thor would accept another dog taking our attention. We could not have asked for a better additional to our clan! The boys have bonded wonderfully and Thor now has the extra attention he always wanted and deserved. They are great with our child and our cat and we love them so much!"- Bayne & Thor's adopter
