As we have our new corporation and 501c3 status we are now Our Best Friends Rescue operating as a DBA or Short & Stumpy Pups Inc. Maria, Michele, Paula and Pattie will work harder now than ever before to rescue the pups that someone threw away. Whether it be to adopt to a new wonderful family that will never leave them behind again or to do hospice care all animals are important. While we can't ac

cept every animal into our rescue due to lack of good foster homes we will help network when we have no room. We save as many as is physically possible without dumping them into boarding or a kennel where they will go cage crazy. Living in a cage is no life for any animal and that's why we only home foster our dogs. Human contact is absolutely necessary to create a well balanced dog as well as to rehabilitate a dog that's had a less than stellar beginning.

There is a bill currently in the Senate S4234–A and in the Assembly A 6298-A . If passed this bill will ban the sale of puppy mill dogs cats and rabbits in NYS. Please contact the following Senators that are opposed to it and urge them to support it and take it out of committee for a vote . It doesn’t matter if you do not live in their district you are entitled to voice your opinion to anyone who has a vote on it
