We almost didn't post this. Not because we are not proud of the work but because this one hit different. 🥹
He came in sometimes back with his parents looking tired. Not just the dog the parents, after being turned away multiple times because of his condition. His coat was heavily infested with ticks, and you could tell he had been carrying discomfort for a long time.
We looked at him. Ticks. More than we expected. And honestly… our hearts broke for him. Behind all the ticks and the overwhelming condition he came in with, there was still just a dog needing help and a living soul hoping someone would finally say yes. Anyone can express interest in perfection but love reveals itself in how we respond to imperfection.
And here is something we believe with everything in us, to truly care for animals is to devote active compassion toward the messy situations too.
So we took our time with him. We worked carefully and with love. We know that no dog deserves to feel unwanted simply because they need extra help. And that’s something we will always stand on.
We will never turn away a pet for needing care.
To his parents thank you for not giving up on finding someone who would say yes. And to every pet parent reading this whose dog has been turned away or written off, bring them to us. We don't care about the condition they come in. We care about the condition they leave in.
We love these animals deeply, and sometimes love looks like showing up for them on their hardest days. Which we will always do. ❤️🐾
