Kern County Animal Services - Volunteers Make new friends, the two-legged and four-legged kind! Connect with wonderful, like-minded people that want to make a difference too!

Our shelter is always seeking additional volunteers* to help us care for our animals and help them find new homes. Dedicated volunteers are critical to our goal of saving lives. There are many ways to get involved, including assisting staff with feeding, cleaning and caring for the animals; fostering animals that are too young, sick or injured to be adopted; clerical projects; lost and found suppo

rt, and off-site adoption and special event support. If you are 18 or older, please fill out our volunteer application and submit it for review. Once approved, you will be contacted to attend an orientation and training based on your volunteer duty.

*Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate students under the age of 18.

VILLAGE! SPREAD THE WORD PLEASE

WE NEED PLUSH TOYS FOR OUR KITTIES. (Webkinz and Beanie baby sized works great!). Not too big not too small. Plushy toys that can be cuddled with.
Also, Bags of Rice and Tube socks are needed to make rice sock warmers for our kitties too.
Donations can be brought to 3951 Fruitvale Avenue. Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesdays 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. Thank you!

VILLAGE!

We are need of newspaper donations please (free of sales advertisements/shiny Ad inserts, stacked and ready to use is very appreciated👍). Newspaper really helps our shelter in many ways especially with our puppy kennels which are in constant need of cleaning. We go through a great deal of newspaper daily. Thank you very much!
