Everyone meet Rooster!
I picked Rooster up yesterday from a sad situation where his owners were giving him away. They werenโt screening homes and said first one to show up gets him. So of course I had to pick him up.
Rooster will stay with us until he finds his forever home, he is 1.5 years old labdoodle thing. Rooster is fixed, great with children and other dogs. He rides well in a car and appears to be potty trained so far. Weโve seen him curious about cats, but not shown aggression. He has been familiar with a groomer, when I gave him a bath he sat there quietly and waited patiently while he was blow dried. Rooster is incredibly sweet and loving. He wants to be wherever youu are. He is submissive to other dogs and will remove himself away from other dogs if overstimulated. He walks well on a leash and is not reactive to humans or dogs nearby.
Rooster will need regular grooming appointments every 6 weeks throughout his life, and he has a massive overbite. It doesnโt seem to hinder him currently, but will need addressed by a vet here in the near future.
Ideally Iโd love to see Rooster go to a home with an active family. He has been living the majority of his life outside and appears to enjoy going for walks and getting out and about and Iโd like to continue that for him.
Rooster will receive basic training while he is with me such as leash manners, basic obedience, crate training and we will work on his off leash recall as well.
