Border Collie mix, Riley, has gone home to Peachtree City, where she will live the life of Riley with a beautiful fenced yard, 90 miles of paved trails, romps on her neighborhood golf course (on it's closed days), countless golf cart rides and work days with mom. P.S. Riley will help mend hearts broken by the passing of a much loved Border Collie....❤️🤗

REPEAT ADOPTION IN ALABAMA! Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix, Bambi, has gone home to Hartselle, to heal hearts broken by the passing of two former Fairy Dogmother dogs. Bambi has come a long way from being a skinny, unloved, unwanted stray having rocks thrown at her. Happy smiles all around!

REDFORD & GUMP UPDATE! These boys are thrilled with their new home and pack. Confirmed chow hound and Daddy's dog, Gump, has commandeered dad's lap and the kitchen. Redford thinks being a house dog with a dog door out to a huge fenced yard is Heaven. Today is groom day for him. The only thing better than having an FDM dog is having multiple FDM dogs! Happy family!!! 🤩🥳💯❤️

R.I.P. ELLIE MAE. She came in Sept 2022 and was a greeter here at the rescue. Ellie was happy and had a good life here but it wasn't the same as a home and people of her own. I've lost count of the people who loved her and said if they could take two dogs, they would take her too. She jumped in open doors hoping to stowaway with the "chosen" dog. Another dog was always chosen, smaller, cuter maybe, popular breed or mix maybe, not many people want a beagle or Godforbid a "bird" dog, a dog who wasn't here for two and a half years. People would ask "What's WRONG with her"? Not a thing! Ellie was house trained, loved to ride, loved everybody--two legged and four legged. She was only three years old. Medium size. Her super short, slick, sleek coat didn't noticeably shed. I'd like to blame the crappy economy, but Ellie's adoption fee was $300, while all those dogs mentioned above had higher adoption fees. The best part of Ellie's life was being a Fairy Dogmother dog. She transferred here from another rescue who received her from their vet when her people brought her in to be euthanized. We never figured out why that happened. It hurts that sweet Ellie Mae died still waiting on a home of her own. I found her in her favorite doghouse today. Looking like she laid down for a nap. Not a mark on her. Her fairy dogmother loved her, but it wasn't enough. It couldn't make her a ShihTzu or a doodle mutt, only an unpopular Beagle mix girl.....R.I.P. Ellie you truly were the best of dogs....
