Ok Wendy Winstead is probably gonna wanna kill me, but this was such a fun 20 minutes that I could not help myself. Wendy and this bird have a history and the bird obviously loves Wendy. It was so wonderful to watch.

Saturday we had our annual HorseSensing Hometown Fall Festival and Arts and Crafts Fair. A huge thank you to Rusty Rabbit, our main sponsor for this event and Current Waste Solutions for their sponsorship as well. Thank you to the hundreds of folks that came and enjoyed all the activities, shopping, music, line dancing, food, pony rides, pony painting, petting zoo and Kidz Zone that we had to offer. Thank you to all who bought raffle tickets for the car (winner Bill Sample) and for those that bought raffle tickets for the 50/50 raffle (winner Bill Field of $250!)
An enormous, affectionate, grateful thank you to OUR VOLUNTEERS! We simply could not do this without you!!! Thank you to our wonderful artisans and vendors and nonprofits that made this year's Hometown Fall Festival about TWICE as well attended as last year! Mark your calendars for Oct 10, 2025 for next year's event. We will put out our call for vendors about January and we will be looking for sponsors around the same time. As we grow, we hope to bring even more Shelby County personality to our fabulous event. Now for some photos! We had a kids costume contest with delightful entries. Asia, Tucker and Pistol thrilled the kids with Pony rides. Asia (the queen) had flowers in her hair for the occasion. Pistol was a stellar addition to the equine crew this year(Thank you Jamie and Gregg Bohmer). I heard that Pistol became quite enamored with Queen Asia! How could he not be?? Thank you to Sherra, Jamie and Gregg, and Cathryn for guiding the kids to safely ride!
In the KIDZ ZONE we had a truly gifted volunteer team with Quinn in charge, Tara at the art table transmitting her many gifts to the kids and all the volunteers guiding the kids thru all the games, painting the mini's and the Ponys, dressing up in all the costumes and taking home their painted pumpkins and art pieces. A huge thank you to our parking crew led by Phillip Crittendon and thank you Gary Walls and Gary’s Golf cart for getting folks back and forth to their cars. What a team effort! Thank you to our team at the information and ticket booth, you got everyone where they needed to be and told them about our mission at HorseSensing as well! Our food court was rockin’ with David (our birthday boy)and Tom at the grill and our awesome ladies and gentlemen selling and preparing the meals and goodies. Thank you to Dion Muncrief for making his famous chili!! Let’s not forget Angela and the Lady DJ’s for our music and line dancing! And you may not have known it but there was a Ruckin’ Recovery Run in the early morning hours coordinated by Chris Carl, Brady Moore and Amanda Glynn. Thank you guys! Thank you to all the runners that attended this event! And how about our ladies at the car raffle booth! Tracey and Diane did their best to keep up with the demand for a chance at the car!
A heartfelt thank you to Traci Titus and our HorseSensing Board for all the work put in to prepare and put on this event. We’re talking months of prep! And now for some photos!!
