Walnut Ridge Kennels is family-owned/operated boarding kennel, nestled in a quiet country setting in Huron County, Michigan. Located outside the city of Bad Axe in the "heart" of the Thumb, we have been in existence since 1999. After expanding yet again, we now have the capacity to house 60 dogs. We have spacious 4'x8' chain link runs inside for larger dogs and 3'x6' runs for the smaller dogs. For

the optimal comfort of our guests, the building is climate controlled. Soft music is played throughout the day and night, having a calming effect on the dogs. Outside we have 2 large fenced areas where the dogs are able to exercise and play several times a day. You may bring toys, blankets, treats, etc for your poochie to have during their stay with us. Dogs must be up to date on 3 vaccinations at least one week prior to boarding: bordetella, rabies and distemper. Give us a call if you have any questions or want to schedule! Due to the high temperatures/humidity and chance of rain, we are once again going to cancel dog obedience classes this evening and reschedule for tomorrow night, weather permitting! Thank you all for understanding and stay cool😊🐾

Unfortunately, with it being so hot 🥵and no shade, I am going to cancel dog obedience class tonight and see what happens with the weather tomorrow... I just don't want to take a risk with people or dogs getting sick with the heat. Thank you so much for your understanding.🐾😊

Due to wet grass and the chance of more rain, dog obedience class is canceled for tonight. We will resume next Tuesday evening at 7pm. Thank you so much for understanding 🐾😊

Friday August 29th, 2025 -- fun starts at 4:30 PM leading up to our DOG WALK at 6:00 PM along the Elkton Community Walking Path!

Event Highlights include:
SILENT AUCTION
GRAB BAGS (available on a first come, first serve basis)
AGILITY EQUIPMENT set up for an *on-leash* course sponsored by Denise Simmons
VACCINATION CLINIC sponsored by Caseville Small Animal Clinic

Commemorative Event T-Shirts will be available once they are ready! We'll let the public know when that is!!
