Walnut Ridge Kennels is family-owned/operated boarding kennel, nestled in a quiet country setting in Huron County, Michigan. Located outside the city of Bad Axe in the "heart" of the Thumb, we have been in existence since 1999. After expanding yet again, we now have the capacity to house 60 dogs. We have spacious 4'x8' chain link runs inside for larger dogs and 3'x6' runs for the smaller dogs. For

the optimal comfort of our guests, the building is climate controlled. Soft music is played throughout the day and night, having a calming effect on the dogs. Outside we have 2 large fenced areas where the dogs are able to exercise and play several times a day. You may bring toys, blankets, treats, etc for your poochie to have during their stay with us. Dogs must be up to date on 3 vaccinations at least one week prior to boarding: bordetella, rabies and distemper. Give us a call if you have any questions or want to schedule! As we all know it's going to get even colder. If you have outdoor animals PLEASE make sure they have proper housing & lots straw. If able, please bring companion animals inside. Put them in a utility room, basement, spare bedroom to help protect them. If you need to purchase straw we will start a list. If you know of any place just comment and we will add to the list. If you see an animal in need please call someone for help. If no animal control in your county, call the Sheriff's department for your county.

Experience with dogs is a MUST!
We’re looking for hardworking, dependable, and trustworthy team members who:
✅ Have a love for dogs and a nurturing attitude
✅ Can work in a fast-paced environment on their feet all shift
✅ Are willing to do heavy cleaning and care for dogs of all sizes/breeds
✅ Flexible work schedule but can work weekends & major holidays
✅ Have good interpersonal, communication skills & can take direction
✅Ability to multi-task during your shift

💡 You don’t need extensive dog experience—just a willingness to learn and a big heart for dogs, all shapes & sizes!
