Indie led the whole way out on the trails! She found lots of water crossings, spooked up wildlife, and did a lot of off-trail riding. The only time she needed to follow another horse was to cross the bridge that goes over the creek. Video in comments.

Hard to tell in the video, but we went into the roundpen to find the sticky mucky footing Indie is not a fan of, and work on walking through it.
It also was a windy day, so perfect day to get the tarp out again! She accepts it, but as soon as it’s on the ground moving around on its own it’s highly suspicious.🧐
A little patience and encouragement and she’ll go over it. Marissa Tumberg

Indie is becoming a pro at backing out of the trailer!

Does your horse struggle with this? Here’s some simple steps to help:
1. Make sure you can back your horse easily on the ground, with a soft low head at a slow speed.
2. Find uneven or unfamiliar ground to back your horse over. We love to use the bridge and tire obstacles for this.
3. Once you’ve mastered the first two steps then ask in the trailer. Take your time! Get their front feet up, then have them back off a couple of times. Once they easily can do that then get all four feet on, and back out.
Repetition, repetition, repetition.. practice makes perfect!
Our obstacles are available for use, and we also do lessons if you’re needing extra help with it.

We’ve been taking some big steps with Jasper the past couple weeks. Another video in the comments.

Video update on Jasper! He’s a 4 year old who unfortunately had to have his eye removed earlier this year. We have been slowly working on building his confidence, as his flight instinct is very very high and he tends to bolt. He really relies on your voice giving him cues and communicating since he is unable to see your body language if you’re on his left side.

Harvey riding through the obstacles, some that he is used to and a few newer ones he hasn’t done.

Harvey had his first ride! He did so well. Trot and lope video in the comment section.

Switched it up a bit and went out on the trails with Annie this morning! She did great, aside from needing some work on patience, so we ended up clearing a trail so we could work on stopping and standing still for a while. More videos in the comment section.

Update on Annie: She had some vet work to fix some underlying issues, and now we’re able to see what all needs worked on training wise! We had to step back to the basics for a bit, and have been working on her using her body correctly. Lots of work still to do but love seeing the growth in her.
