Tucker’s owner reached out to me for help with leash manners and significant leash reactivity. Prior to training, Tucker had already pulled his owner over once, resulting in a minor injury, and was very difficult to manage on walks due to his size and behavior.
His owner was already doing a wonderful job with counter-conditioning exercises. As we know, every dog is different—especially when it comes to reactivity. In Tucker’s case, there was plenty of “yes, do this” communication, but not enough clarity around “this behavior is not allowed.” Once clear boundaries were established, his owners were able to lean even more into their counter-conditioning work—this time with greater safety and more opportunities for consistent practice.
Since starting training, Tucker has successfully passed golf carts, kids on scooters, strollers, other dogs, and even roosters 🐓 (because, of course—King William 🤣).
No more waiting for quiet hours to walk him or hoping to avoid the everyday distractions that busy neighborhoods make unavoidable.
I’m incredibly proud of this team. There’s still work to be done, but this is a huge step forward.
