What an amazing few days! We packed in riding, crafts, games, horse baths, horse popsicles, human popsicles, trivia, and so much more!

The best part? The awesome kids who made it all so much fun. 🥰

A screen won’t challenge a child to stay calm when they’re nervous.
A horse will.

A screen won’t teach leadership, patience, responsibility, or resilience in real time.
A horse does every single ride. 🐎

We hope you got to enjoy some sunshine, family time, and make a few great memories along the way.

As we head into summer at CT Ranch, we are so excited for all the lessons, camps, horses, and fun ahead! 🐴☀️

Over and over, we have riders come to us after having a bad experience elsewhere saying:
“I didn’t know what I was supposed to look for.”

Not all lesson programs are created equal — and finding the right fit can make all the difference in safety, confidence, growth, and enjoyment. 💛

✨ TOP Things To Look For In A Riding Program ✨

1️⃣ SAFETY FIRST — ALWAYS
A good program puts safety above everything else. Helmets, proper boots, safe horses, safe equipment, and instructors who know how to teach riders correctly all matter.

2️⃣ LESSONS SHOULD REQUIRE PROPER ATTIRE
If a program allows riders in crocs, sandals, or unsafe clothing, that’s a red flag. Proper boots and helmets are there for a reason.

3️⃣ THE PROGRAM SHOULD BE INSURED
Insurance matters. It shows the program is serious, professional, and invested in protecting riders, horses, and their business — not just trying to make quick money.

4️⃣ SAFE & SUITABLE LESSON HORSES
Lesson horses should be cared for, experienced, and matched appropriately to riders’ skill levels.

The horses test your patience.
Nothing goes as planned.
You leave dusty, sore, frustrated, and wondering if you made any progress at all.

But somehow… those hard barn days are still better than most days anywhere else. 🐴🤎

Because the barn teaches you things comfort never will:
✨ Patience
✨ Responsibility
✨ Humility
✨ Grit
✨ How to keep showing up even when it’s hard

The horses don’t care if your day was bad. They still need fed, loved, ridden, and cared for. And somewhere between the chores, sweat, laughter, and tears… healing happens.

Riding is only one small part of being a true horseman.
Every rider — no matter their age or skill level — should know the basics of horse care. Why? Because horses depend on us for EVERYTHING. ❤️

Knowing how to:
• Groom properly
• Pick hooves safely
• Recognize injuries or soreness
• Understand feeding and water needs
• Clean tack correctly
• Notice changes in behavior
• Respect barn safety

…makes you a better rider AND a better teammate for your horse.

The best riders are not just the ones winning ribbons — they’re the ones their horses trust. 🐎
