We have open hours on Tuesday evenings 5 PM- 7 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1 PM but we do meet by appointment on other days of the week. This Whiskers Wednesday we were struck by Bubble’s whiskers here. Aren’t they majestic? Well you can now have some of that majesty in your life as she is looking for her fur-ever home. Will it be yours?

Bubbles is a 2-year-old sweet grey-and-cream tabby female cat who was at an overcrowded, high-kill shelter. She is a petite little thing, and she had just finished raising 6 kittens!

Bubbles came to Misty Eyes to live in a foster home while awaiting her forever home. She is fitting in nicely with the young children, other cats and a dog in the foster home.

It’s Tongue Out Tuesday and we couldn’t help but share one of the photos that was shared in our foster group. This is Stanley and his foster mom got some beautiful shots of all her foster pups, so we will be sharing them the next few weeks - Tongue out or not. 🐕‍🦺🐾

Stanley came to Misty Eyes with his littermates to find a forever home. He's an adorable black-and-white pup, thought to be a Lab-mix. He was adopted, but was recently returned due to the owner's health.

He's now just over a year old and living in a foster home with other dog. He has done well learning about potty habits and being a "good boi."

Are you ready to eat? This is not a drill - Today is our April dine to donate. Join us at Bubba’s 33 in Avon on Tuesday, April 22 for any meal you like! Just show the flyer to have a portion of your purchase donated to Misty Eyes - Frankie here approves this message and wants to know if he can have a piece of that bacon on your burger.🍔

Frankie is an adorable hound-mix female puppy who was surrendered to an overcrowded, high-kill shelter, so Misty Eyes brought Frankie and her sister, Paige, into our foster program.

Living with her foster family, Frankie has begun learning good house dog manners. We were informed that Frankie has a heart murmur and sought further investigation from our vet. She has mild subaortic stenosis (SAS), which is causing the murmur. Right now, it's mild and not causing her any problems. Dogs with mild SAS can have a normal life span. However, she will need a recheck at 12-18 months of age to determine whether it's worsening. She will also need prophylactic antibiotics should she undergo any surgical/dental procedures or sustain a wound or injury.

This Whiskers Wednesday Dune wants to remind everyone that we will be selling Easter Baskets at the Center on Saturday April 19! 🐣🐰Baskets are $20 each and come packed with a toy, chocolate bunny and much, much more. 🐈‍⬛

Dune (6 years old) was one of many stray cats at a high-kill shelter and was in need of rescue. He came to Misty Eyes and has proven to be a very sweet, outgoing, mellow cat.

Kai says, “Are you ready to eat?” One week from tonight is our April dine to donate. Join us at Bubba’s 33 in Avon on Tuesday, April 22 for any meal you like! Just remember it’s Tongue Out Tuesday, so celebrate appropriately!


This handsome boy, Kai (4 years old), is a lab mix who came to Misty Eyes, along with his siblings, from a high-kill shelter. He was adopted, but, sadly was recently returned due to family changes.

Kai is a somewhat high-strung dog and is not recommended for apartment living. He can be very vocal. He does best with a fenced yard where he can free roam. Kai is a strong puller on-leash and definitely needs some behavior modification training. He is excitable and lunges when meeting other dogs on leash, or when meeting strangers.

Because he is excitable and boisterous, he would do best with children over the age of 12. Kai is housebroken and crate-trained, although he is not a fan of being crated. When allowed freedom in the house, he has not been destructive.
