Went to the Springfield horse sale last night. Had a friend wanting a donkey and 45 mini donkeys were there from one farm. These were just run of the mill unhandled donkeys. Some were in pretty poor condition. First pair in sold for 3900. Most of the other pairs brought close to 3000. Single donkey jennies brought 1800 to 2500. An Amish man bought most of the pairs and a lot of the single jennies. Baby jacks were around 1000 with some higher and a few lower. One poor Jenny had a severe neck injury which left her neck twisted, her head turned sideways and her back deformed. She brought 1200. I really dont understand these prices, some were so poor and sick they probably wont survive. Someone told me that my purebred lcelandic gelding was priced too high. He is halter broke, handled, wormed, vaccinated and has a negative coggins. He has been fed very well and is super healthy. He is priced less than a run of the mill donkey that has not had proper care. My friend ended up getting a yearling jack and he will have a great home.

Mani is looking good and feeling great. Looking for a new barn to call home. 16 months old. He has NO trot, only tolt and pace. Current vaccinations, coggins and wormed. Just had his feet trimmed. He is gentle just needs someone to continue to work with him.

Skyfaxi is a 2 year old gelding. Current on vaccinations, worming and has a new Coggins. Still looking for a new home. He is a purebred Icelandic but can not be registered.
