Have you ever said to yourself or to someone else don’t give to the person on the side of the road holding a sign they’re not really in need.
What is a desperate person to you? Someone that would shed their pride and hold a sign and ask for help is. Maybe they aren’t homeless maybe they just can’t afford groceries this month. Maybe they can’t make their rent. Maybe they can’t afford dog food. Maybe they need gas money. All worthy for me to call a desperate situation. I call it like I see it. If you don’t help the poor and you tell yourself they are not truly in need you’re just lying to yourself to make yourself feel better about ignoring a desperate person. I recently stoped and spoke with a homeless sign holder. He told me he lived in a tent and he showed me the missing tip of his finger he lost to frost bite. Dog in tow. Was he lying? He surely was not. Maybe they aren’t all homeless. You don’t have to be homeless to be desperate. Who’s to say why they are there but they are there because they are desperate. In the Holy Bible it says we are to give to the poor. Do you think that was a suggestion? It was a directive. 99.9% of the people on the side of the road aren’t better off than you. Quit repeating Satans well played lie that all those poor beggars are just conmen. That’s a lie straight from the serpents mouth.
Remember every word you speak there is a record off in heaven. Every good or generous thing you do there is a record of in heaven. Show him you have a servants heart. His reward will be worth the twenty bucks.
