Our sweet Donald needs your help.

He is one of our most urgent dogs. He is starting to show extreme signs of kennel stress, what we call kennel neurosis. In other words, he's going kennel crazy. What does this look like? Barking nonstop in his window, going from side to side, and becoming increasingly anxious. What makes it hard on our team is when they are out of the kennel, they are completely fine. 💔 Donald is such a sweet and loving dog. He loves running and playing with volunteers in the play yard. He’s done well around other dogs and we are hopeful his forever family can be found quickly. We love him so much and as soon as our team member noticed this they went to check on him. We told him we will make this post and ask the internet to do its thing. Please share and help us get Donald in his forever home.

Donald is a VIP Adoptable Dog for his time spent in the shelter. His adoption fee is just $5. He is heartworm negative and as we mentioned he’s done well around other dogs in the shelter. If you have another dog at home, we recommend bringing them with you for an official meet and greet at the shelter with one of our team members.

UPDATE: I’ll be meeting the owners at the facility in the next few days to better understand exactly what happened. Thank you Susan Witte for your assistance in getting more information.
Still waiting to hear from the cremator regarding the condition of Sapphire’s body but that will not change anything, just a tiny step towards closure. Susan will also be going with me to the facility to get Sapphire’s bed back and “investigate”. I had bought her a very nice, plush bed that Greta can use at my home.
This is not an easy situation by any means, and I don’t believe there is any right or wrong way to follow this up. The owner has assured me severe changes will be made. I’ll simply be going there to discuss what went wrong and what will be fixed.

We’ll get justice for you Sapphire. As time as passed, we are starting to understand that the boarding facility (not yet prepared to mention which one) seems to be hiding something. I asked for ONE THING upon receiving the tragic news and that is PHOTOS!! They chose NOT TO TAKE PHOTOS.

Owner has taken an attitude too which totally changes things. There WILL be a full investigation as facilities like this should not be open for business!!

So, we did a “thing”.

Mom & pups were set to be euthanized early this week but thankfully, they had some warriors working night & day until they found us. Thanks to lots of helpers, these sweeties are SAFE!!!
