Always take the kids to vote! Raise em to be civic minded. We treat all people, regardless of circumstance, with more respect than we expect in return. We vote Democrat because we believe in democracy, science, and because our faith guides us to seek humane policy instead of hateful stunts. As a food waste hauler I got to see the economic cost of abbots grid failure during the freeze first hand. The restaurants we work for took major losses during the freeze and blackouts. 60ish food biz clients with overflowing compost bins, their whole walk-in wasted. Abbot responded by giving a trillion dollar bailout to the very same energy oligarchs that failed us all. Not a dollar to the hardworking kitchens that built this farm. Didn’t fix the grid or plan for the droughts and hurricanes and floods of the future either. Texas deserves a new chance for a better future. It’s obvious that the Republican Party is only interested in culture war stunts instead of the pragmatic planning for the chaotic future that we all see coming. They can’t even keep the grid running in the energy capital of America 🇺🇸

🌱What led you to an interest in farming?

"I’ve worked in the food industry for over 20 years and have always been curious about the origins of ingredients."

🌱What are you listening to while you work??

"80s hardcore punk (as good as a cup of black coffee on sleepy mornings!), ambient metal, and indie shoegaze."

🌱What do you love most about working here?

"Learning about plants and the farming industry. Seeing all the beautiful micros lined up in the greenhouse every morning. Flowers!! If I could go back in time and tell my childhood self that I get to pick edible flowers at my job she would be stoked!" 🌺🌺
