Today has been the ultimate blast for a few reasons: 1. We welcomed a new pup, Nala who LOVED her friends Sophie & Dune! 2. The sun is shining and giving our pack the most blissful afternoon! & 3. We get to love on these dogs all day long - it’s our favorite thing!

Hi Pups & Pals Pack,

Spring Break is coming up in about two weeks! Due to the influx of holiday boarding pups for Spring Break, regular doggy daycare is canceled just for Monday - Friday of Spring Break week. That’s Monday March 17th through Friday March 21st, in order for us to accommodate the amount of boarding reservation requests for that holiday week!

Dogs who are a part of our Day Care Regulars Program have their spot saved for the following days surrounding that week:

Spring Break Weekend One:

Friday March 14th - Friday Day Care Regulars Spots are saved per usual and we are expecting you! We will charge for no-shows!

Saturday March 15th - Saturday Day Care Regulars Spots are saved per usual and we are expecting you! We will charge for no-shows!

Sunday March 16th - Sunday Day Care Regulars Spots are saved per usual and we are expecting you! We will charge for no-shows!

Spring Break Week Days:

Monday March 17th through Friday March 21st - Day Care is Cancelled. Day Care Regulars do not have their spots saved!


Spring Break Weekend Two:

Saturday March 15th - Saturday Day Care Regulars Spots are saved per usual and we are expecting you! We will charge for no-shows!

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my heart dog, Penny. Today would have been Penny’s 11th Birthday.

Penny was my first dog when I was out on my own becoming an adult in the world. I had had many pups growing up in my childhood home, but adopting Penny during my senior year of college was began a new chapter in my life — my transition to “dog mom.” Penny was my entire world! And she is the reason that I discovered the concept of doggy daycare! Post college graduation, I was working long hours in my corporate sales job and attending graduate school in the evenings, all while raising an energetic vizsla puppy! Doggy daycare was a godsend! Penny was registered at three different doggy daycares in the greater Austin area! One by my house, one by my work, and one near school. We were regulars at all three. And I would not have survived those years without those doggy daycares!

I grew to love Penny’s doggy daycares so much that I became fascinated with the doggy daycare business, and later opened my own! So, it’s all thanks to Penny that Pups & Pals exists. This is why we call Penny the “True Founder” of Pups & Pals.

Penny absolutely loved water! She was obsessed with the pool, the lake, the greenbelt, and the ocean! …and even the water hose at Pups & Pals! She loved to swim, so we took her as much as possible! Here are some of my favorite pictures of Penny over the years. Happy Birthday, Penny!

We opened the first location of Pups & Pals in November, 2016 on South 1st Street in Austin, Tx. It was our dream to own a business doing what we love--taking care of the best pups in Austin, Tx! We see doggy day care not as a WANT, but as a NEED. Dogs need socialization, mental stimulation, and exercise! They are one of the few species of animals that desire social contact with their own kind--and they need it to THRIVE! We offer a safe, structured and supervised place for dogs to come run free and play with their best pals! We offer a home away from home for pups to stay overnight when vacations or business trips call pet owners out of town. Because of our genuine compassion for dogs, impeccable standard of cleanliness, and dedication to providing a fun, enriching, and safe place for dogs to thrive, we have been awarded numerous awards and recognition in the dog day care industry. We have been named in the Top 8 Best Dog Daycares in Austin (Out of 200+) for 2017 and 2018. We have won the “People Love Us on Yelp” award for 2017 and 2018 for all positive reviews on Yelp.
