Hey y'all!!! It's me!!! () π So I haven't made a personal message here on our Farm Page in a While!!! I'd like to reconnect with everyone and say how proud I am of the work we were able to do in the Austin Community over the last 7 years!!! Thank you ALL for helping us achieve our goal of working with AISD on an internship program, letting us know that our programming is necessary! After having been displaced from the land we look forward to what's next!!! - Tiffany Washington

What an amazing journey I have undertaken over the last 10 years! From deciding to become my own boss, to figuring out what that means, while starting a family!
Iβve founded Dobbin-Kauv Garden Farm to serve as a reminder that Family, Community, Health, and Wealth, are collaborative institutions that build solid foundations and carry on tradition. We are growing fresh produce using organic practices to sustain local communities! Serving with pride and a dedication to Food Justice and Food Education.
In 1871 my ancestors founded Antioch Colony, a Freedman's farming community, in Buda, Texas. Generational gaps in farming, the lack of know-how, in the production of our own food, and a lack of interest in agriculture has left many families of color in situations where they have no idea about how their food is processed or what they are really eating, leaving us dependent upon BIG businesses to feed our bodies!... YUK!
Bringing my family back to tradition farming practices, changing my mind-set about self sustainability, growing my own food, and making healthier food choices, has created the environment and lifestyle Iβve longed for, as a Writer, for the cultivation and growth of my familyβs health and wealth. I just want to share it with my neighbors!
Pen-named Freelance Nancy, I am a United States Navy Veteran and Urban FarmHer.
Yaβll can call me Nancy Farm Fancy! Just being my own creative self, sharing my lifestyle, and bringing fresh produce to East Austin are my passions! I am fortunate enough to finally have found a meaningful and purposeful connection to my creativity through crop planning, playing in soil for a living, and feeding everybody I love, from Dobbin Kauv Farm!
Hope to see yaβll at Market! #iAmBlackAustin #BlackAgriculture #SupportYourLocalFarmHer
