The dogs at GCAC are free to adopt. However, you must go to your vet beforehand and prepay for rabies and spay/neuter and show the receipt from that payment when you pick up the dog.

This Freya, she is currently in Midland Texas. Freya needs a foster home, better yet, a permanent loving home.

Freya is about 10–months-old. She’s housebroken, good with other dogs and with cats. Sadly, Freya did not have a good home and she is a little timid, especially of men, so she needs someone to show her that people are good.

Lilly is a tiny Chikanese puppy that came into our rescue. She was born with a deformed front leg and she has a grade 4 heart murmur. We are trying to straighten the leg, but most likely it will need to be amputated. She will also need to have an echocardiogram. Donations to help with Lilly’s vet care will be greatly appreciated.

Leg was stretched and put in a brace. Next vet visit is Tuesday.

This is Lilly. New rescue from San Antonio. She is 6 weeks old (DOB 12/11/23). She weighs 13.5 oz.
She was turned into rescue because she will need some vet care, because she has a heart murmur and deformed front leg.

Lilly is scheduled to see Dr. Lauren Pugliese (Orthopedic surgeon) at the Central Texas Specialty clinic on Tuesday

Update on the two starving Danes that were left outside to freeze.

The dogs made to our rescue in Austin. We found them a temporary foster home. Today was their first vet visit. Leo (harlequin Dane) was determined to be about a year old and he weighs 72 lbs. Linus ( blue Dane) was determined to be 18 months old and he weighs 68 lbs. They were vaccinated and tested for Ehrlicia and heartworm. Both are HW POS. and will need treatment.

Two Great Dane in Brownsville Texas left outside for over a week with no food of water. Police was called and since the shelter is full, they just released them on the street. A neighbor took them in for the night, but can only hold them for a couple of days. They need to come to rescue in Austin and they need foster homes!!.

This is Paris. She is a beautiful fawn Great Dane. Spayed and current on vaccinations. Trained. She is energetic and goofy, it is hard to believe she is 4-years-old.
