Mulligan's Run Weekly Training Tip: Training Tip -- All pups chew; after all, they have no hands. How else are they going to investigate their world? Chewing cannot be stopped but it can be controlled and channeled. Giving the pup a myriad of toys may actually be confusing and lead to the pup believing that anything and everything is fair game. It is better to limit the pup to a few toys and under no circumstances should the pup be given any personal belongings to play with (socks, shoes, old hand bags, etc.) Many pups chew to relieve tension, so elimination of stressful situations is important. Examples would be social isolation, boredom, delays in feeding time and physical barriers/restraints.

Exercise is a great stress reliever, for both us and our pups! Contact Mulligan's Run Dog Walkers if your pup needs some additional exercise!

Mulligan's Run Dog Walkers Weekly Training Tip: Want to quickly spoil your dog? Then constantly hold/carry/pet your dog. This type of constant communication creates an attitude of "the world owes me." In the dog world it is the underlings that groom (pet) the more alpha partner. So a puppy who is constantly coddled soon assumes he is in control. Use petting the same as you would food or treats --- a reward for good behavior.
