Meet the Doctor:

Dr. Rita Geigel was born in San Antonio, but grew up in San Juan Puerto Rico. She did her undergrad and graduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating from the Veterinary School in 1990. She and her husband moved to Austin in 1991, where she raised 3 beautiful and talented daughters while working as a Relief and Emergency veterinarian all over Austin and the surro

unding areas. This September, Dr. Geigel took ownership over Windsor Park Veterinary Clinic in East Austin bringing her extensive small animal experience to this area as well as her bilingual skills in English and Spanish. Four times a year she travels to Mexico, the Dominican Republic and El Salvador to teach spaying and neutering to the local Veterinary Schools. Dr. Geigel spends much of her time attending different educational courses to continue to stay up to date with the latest in veterinary developments; as well as to provide the best care to her patients.

Is your pet preparing for their first visit to Windsor Park Veterinary Clinic? We're here to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible. We encourage pet parents to stick to their regular routine as much as possible. Get them used to their carrier well in advance, using treats to create positive associations. Keep the first trip short and calm. Bring any medical records and stay close to your pet to provide reassurance. We look forward to seeing you here! (512) 928-1403

Cats are exploratory creatures and many owners wonder if they can be let outside. It truly depends on your preferences as a pet owner and if they've had previous training. It's not the worst idea as long as you are prepared. Ensuring you have precautions in place, like a gated area or harness, is good if you know your pet might try to escape. Visit our veterinarian if you need any other help regarding your feline companions' health or wellness. (512) 928-1403
