Today I watched 4 couples in an hour stop at Chuckโs kennel, glance at him, and keep walking. No questions. No interest.
The first three times, he was sitting at the door. The last time, I didnโt see him at his door. After they passed, I walked up to see what they saw. He was in his bed, just looking back at me. ๐ฅบ And that, physically hurt my heart. ๐
That was just 4 couples in one hour. Chuckโs been at Austin Pets Alive since May 2023. Thinking about the number of people heโs watched pass by since then is unbearable.
Iโve posted everywhere. Iโve begged. But stillโno adoption inquiries. Not one. Itโs crushing to see such a special dog be so invisible. And as his friend and advocate, I feel like Iโm failing him.
If you canโt take him home, help him be seen by sharing this post or any of my other posts of him.
If youโre interested in meeting Chuck, please go to Austin Pets Alive 1156 W Cesar Chavez any day between 12-6. Heโll be waiting patiently for you.
