🐾 National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week 🐾
We don’t usually like the spotlight — but we can't let this week slip by unnoticed. We want to shine on the incredible people who deserve it most: our shelter staff. 💙
We know that “animal control” doesn’t always get the best reputation. Too often, people think about us and assume the worst. What they don’t see are the hearts behind our jobs — the people who love animals so deeply that they’ve chosen one of the hardest jobs imaginable.
These are the people who work tirelessly - long days, late nights, weekends, and holidays — answering calls that few others could handle. They’re the ones comforting a frightened stray, reuniting a lost pet with their family, and making sure every animal in our care knows kindness — even on the hardest days.
What many don’t see is how deeply this work stays with them. They carry the weight of the tough calls and the heartbreaking moments most people can’t even fathom. Often taking animals home to foster after their shifts, spending their own time and money to make sure every life gets a chance. They carry the stories of the ones they couldn’t save. They deal with the tough, heartbreaking moments most people don’t ever have to think about — and yet, they come back the next day ready to do it all again.
These are the quiet heroes who don’t ask for recognition, just the hope that the next animal will have a better day — and a better life — because they cared.
To our team: thank you for your compassion, your strength, and your endless heart. We see you, we thank you, and we couldn’t be prouder of the work you do.
