Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary

Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary Our mission is to give all pets (big and small) a second chance at finding a loving forever home.

Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary is a non profit foster home based animal rescue run by volunteers. Our volunteers donate their time outside of their full time jobs and family to help animals in need. We rescue all kind of animals: Dogs, cats, small animals, birds and even reptiles. We rescue animals from kill shelters, animal control and owner surrenders. Our rescue is unique in that we also work wit

h animals with disabilities. We get no grants or any type of funding, but rely on adoption fees, donors, and sponsorships to help continue our work helping the animals that need us. We also conduct fundraisers to raise necessary funds to provide care for our foster animals. We are located in many different areas: Aurora, Oswego, Chicago, Joliet, and even Northwest Indiana. We’re always looking for committed foster homes to help us help more animals in need. Check out our website: www.furangelsas.org

Gilda(tricolor Abyssinian) and Laraine(Tan and white Crested)are a bonded pair of ladies 3-4 years old. Gilda will be the first to greet you and loves to popcorn around and entertain you. Laraine is more reserved. They will take treats nicely from you, once they feel safe with you. These girls were not held or snuggled in their former home. They had minimal interaction with their humans. They will need a patient, understanding human to allow them time realize they are safe, and loved. Their foster mom has been working with them for almost a month, and both of them will now allow her to pet them, but still very nervous when picking them up and holding them. If you would like to adopt these sweet girls and give them the love and and attention they deserve, please complete an application for adoption at FurAngelsAS.org The adoption fee for this of ladies is $50.

W***y is a wiggly, silly boy full of energy and love. He does enjoy pets on his head and around his ears. He will beg for treats and loves human attention. W***y is 4-5 years old and came to us when his former no longer had time for him. Chinchillas need fairly large cage. A double Midwest ferret or critter nation is the recommended size for a Chinchilla. They need lots of ledges to jump and play and a 15 “ solid metal exercise wheel if you are not able to give a couple hours out of cage trained daily to burn out their energy. If you are not familiar with proper diet and chinchilla care, we are happy to answer all your questions, and help you decide if this would be a good pet for you and your family. His adoption fee is $100. Please complete an application for adoption at FurAngelsAS.org

Omelet is a very good boy who loves to eat superworms and climb. He is very fond of playing in his big water bowl and splashing around. Omelet gets a little nervous around fast movement and other animals like dogs and especially cats. He's hardy and healthy at the age of 3 years. The cats in the last household really freaked him out, and made him go on the defensive. He has been easy to handle for us and has not tried to bite or open his mouth at all. If hungry you will catch him plastered to the glass of the tank begging for food lol. He's a great character ready for a great household to give him lots of enrichment with space, climbing and soaking.
adoption fee is $75. Please complete an application for adoption at FurAngelsAS.org

Jasmine and Bouregard are a mated pair of ring-necked doves. They are siblings who are a few months old. They are very curious and will fly all around in search of seeds. They have a very passionate relationship and love to cuddle and sing to each other. They also will eat out of a humans hand, but don’t like being pet or picked up yet. They’re still learning that humans can be friends, but have come a long way in their foster home.

Turquoise and Cyan are two male parakeets that came from a house with over 70 parakeets. They have become good friends since coming to their foster parent's home, and get along with other parakeets. They are less than 2 years old, and are very sweet, but also lost a toenail or two when they did not have regular nail trimmings. They currently spend most of their time outside their cage, but return to their cage to sleep at night. They love romaine lettuce and eat and bathe in romaine leaves when they are put on top of a cage. These boys are looking for their forever home and family. If you would like to meet them, please fill out an application at furangelsas.com

These young rats are ready for their forever homes! They were born on May 23, 2025, so they are still quite small! We have 5 brothers remaining for adoption: Sunny, Gravel, Dirt, Cliff, and Pebbles. They are all very sweet and wiggly. When they hear me enter the room, they all race to their cage door to say hi. They can be adopted in pairs or trios, or all together! If you have room in your life for these little guys, please fill out our adoption application!

Their adoption fee is $40 for a pair, and $15 for additional babies adopted together.

Proof of a proper enclosure is required: one with solid floors and shelves to prevent foot injuries, bar spacing small enough to prevent escape or heads getting caught, good ventilation to prevent respiratory issues, and enough room to climb, explore, and provide enrichment activities like digging, burrowing, and balancing. Four cubic feet per rat is optimal. Like other animals, rats are very intelligent and need mental stimulation. They are also social creatures so they should be adopted in pairs at a minimum. Rats are heat sensitive, so cage placement is important: an area in the home that does not get too hot in the warmer weather. They do best in areas that are completely dark for at least 8 hours a day with no nightlights or other ambient lighting.
