That's it for today! We will be back at it tomorrow and I'll be making a post as soon as we are up and going or know a time. I'll be honest...not many progress photos today because I didn't stop much to take them but it's coming along and we made tons of progress today!! The floor was just mud when we started. Huge shout out to those who helped today as well as city officials and other volunteers who donated supplies, helping hands, food, or just kept things running smoothly!!

Some photos from inside the shop now that the flooding had receded. Cleanup starts today and will continue tomorrow and this weekend. If anyone wants to help clean please let us know!! We also are searching for dehumidifiers to borrow to try to get things dried out as quickly as possible!! We will keep everyone updated as we progress. We also still have our GoFundMe and are accepting donations to help keep our bills paid and recover from a week of lost wages. We appreciate everyone who has reached out, donated, or offered support during this time and we can't wait to be back! We plan to start rescheduling appointments within the next couple days.

We plan to post updates every step of the way and keep everyone informed on where their money is being used. We will also be making a post for volunteers when we are closer to the cleanup. We appreciate so much everyone who has offered help in any form. We couldn't do this without you and we can't wait to be back to taking care of your pets needs!!

As many now know, downtown Aurora, IN is currently flooded. Last Friday (April 4, 2025), we got a call that we were hoping not to receive...our business was expected to see flood water. After closing Friday, we immediately began to pack and prepare, working well into the night. Saturday and Sunday were also filled with packing, moving anything we could to higher ground, and blocking the doors with sandbags to try to minimize damage while helping others do the same when we had time. With the help of several friends and wonderful people in our community, we were able to get most of what was inside to higher ground and prepare as much as possible before the floodwaters rose too high on Sunday.

Our concerns now are the aftermath and maintaining our finances while we navigate cleanup and repairs. We are completely surrounded by floodwater and will be out of work for at least one week, but possibly longer depending on repair and cleanup needs after the flood recedes. Our business is the sole income for our family, and missing even one week could be detrimental. While we do carry business insurance, unfortunately, we didn't know flooding is not covered by our income loss protection.

Every donation will go directly toward flood recovery, keeping finances current, and anything beyond what we need will be used to make the shop even better and to offer relief to others in our community. Once we’re able to open again, we’ll also be offering discounted pet food and baths for anyone affected by the flood—because we know this has been tough on everyone, including our pets. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this post means the world to us. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support—we can’t wait to be back up and running soon!
