This little grow out is not a smart one. He was raised with his Mom and used the automatic water system. Come weaning time he is still good with his grow out gang. Now that he is by himself he hits the stupid button and forgets. Gave him a bowl and he goes and drinks about a cup worth of water. I was cleaning cages and turned my back and the giant crock empty, his face soaked like he just decided to drown himself I get he was thirsty, but a cup of water is like drinking 3 gallons for us and his tiny size. People I would instantly suspect hyponutremia, hypokalemia and all sorts of other electrolyte mayhem. Sure enough 30 mins later he is like a drunk sailor can’t balance and legs out like he sliding into oblivion. Took him inside and gave him Pedilyte via syringe because its was all i could think of to get some electrolytesi to him. It has electrolytes and i dont have the skills for rabbit IV. Kept him warm and put him in a Tupperware bowl with a heat pad. Idea being if he keeps warm he won’t shiver and further use up any reserves. Thought for sure he would die. Woke up this morning and he had had the biggest p*e, excellent, his kidneys work, and he looks like he fell out of a tree hitting every branch on the way down but he is alive. He didn’t dare leave his bowl and i woke up to two little eyes staring at me as he was on my nightstand. He is eating a bunch of hay and pellets which is great. He is inside with Pooperazzi who got her a**s caught on a cage clip binkying around. I said if you live you two can have babies who get a brain cell from each of you. Rabbits trying to die in stupid ways.
