J.T. and Pam Brown chose the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine when their beloved dachshund Buddy needed emergency back surgery in 2015 – a decision that helped them get five additional years with their furry friend.

Because of their experience and the exceptional care Buddy received at Auburn, the Browns established the Buddy Cares Fund to help ensure other families with dachshunds have access to life-changing veterinary care.

Congratulations to Sybil Elizabeth “Bea” Timms, Auburn Vet Med class of 2025, on being named a 2025 President's Award honoree. 🏆

The President’s Award recognizes one graduate in each college who has completed at least three semesters at Auburn with a minimum grade-point average of 3.40 and possesses outstanding qualities of leadership, citizenship, character and promise of professional ability.

Another Auburn Vet Med grad doing AUsome things! 🧡

: AVMA News recently spoke with several veterinarians and others in the field on why and how they’re using social media, their unexpected stardoms, and its impact on their careers and lives.

Dr. Indya Woods started her Instagram page when she was a third-year veterinary student to fill a void.

“I wanted to see vet students talk about some challenges they faced in veterinary school. I wanted to see young veterinarians thriving after vet school and what life after vet school was like," she said.

Veterinary content creators say social media can add up to 10% to their income.

Beyond the financials, Dr. Woods said signing her first brand partnership with FIGS Scrubs has led to experiences she’s never imagined—from traveling to Mexico for a spay neuter impact trip and participating in a FIGS holiday photoshoot to representing veterinary medicine at FIGS Day on Capitol Hill. https://bit.ly/4jrIyRj

𝗡𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲🧡

Samantha Sampson's deep love for Hashbrown started in the wee hours of the night as she formula-fed the tiny orange kitten. She did her best to keep the baby and his brother, Tater Tot, nurtured.

But despite her efforts, Tater Tot grew stronger while Hashbrown struggled.

A visit to Sampson’s primary vet confirmed a serious heart issue for the small feline, and he recommended Dr. Randolph Winter at Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) for continued care.
