Last but certainly not least, Thyme!

She sure cleans up great, and she was so calm for her bath.

All three mares are doing so well.

Sage wanted to share her progress as well! She’s getting her shine back, physically and emotionally.✨

Rosemary got her first bath today!

She handled it with grace and stood extremely well.

We are so proud of how far this sweet mare has come since arriving at CFL.

It’s amazing what a few months of love, re feeding, and rest can do for a horse.

A little photo dump from today! The CFL team got lots of grooming, training, and barn chores done.

Poppy had fun wearing an English saddle for her ground work today! We can’t believe no one has adopted her yet.

Rosemary, Sage, and Thyme are looking better everyday.

And Francis and Tango are just adorable!

Our new girls Rosemary, Sage, and Thyme have been enjoying their turnout during the day. And they got to meet our Vet and Farrier this week!

Our Vet believes these girls are in their early to mid 20’s, it’s hard to be super accurate as non of them have very many front teeth left.

All three girls are covered in rain rot, so medicated baths once the weather warms up! For now we are using Vetericyn to start treating their skin. They are all so appreciative of the grooming and love.

Thyme(palomino) was checked over first to adress the weeping tumor on her eye and the open scar on her hind leg. We are keeping the eye clean and once she is back up to a healthy weight she may need to have that tumor removed if it causing her discomfort. Unrelated to the tumor, Thyme is showing signs of having cloudy eyes and trouble seeing. She tends to bump into things. Thyme has been a very good patient and is letting us treat the scar on her hind leg everyday. She was also willing to stand for her farrier appointment. Thyme did well for her front feet, but were unable to do her hinds. She was getting tired and we wanted to end on a good note.

Rosemary has the most weight to gain, but is eating great and headed in the right direction. Rosemary had some strong opinions about getting her feet trimmed. We worked with her as best we could, but decided it was in her best interest to help her out with small amount of sedation. After she had some time to relax we were very successfully able to trim all 4 feet!

Sage has a lot of weight to gain back as well and is very appreciative of all the hay and mash! We believe Sage is the youngest out of the three.
Sage was very temperamental about having her feet done. Sedation did nothing for this girl, for everyone’s saftey we decided to not push it today. Sage will get lots of confidence building working with her feet for the farrier. Which we are happy to help her with!

We are confident these sweet girls will make great recoveries and will be looking for their forever families in no time!
