What to do if your dog gets stung by a bee?
1. Identify the insect. Quickly searching of he possible culprit such as a bee or spider. In the case of bee stings, look for a stinger. It is important to remove the stinger as soon as you can to reduce the amount of toxin injected.
2. Apply an ice pack to the affected area for 10 minutes to reduce the swelling.
3. Contact your local Veterinarian for proper dosing of medication and monitoring.

Mushrooms might be yummy for humans at home, but some mushrooms can be highly toxic and even fatal for your dog. If you are out on a hike or a walk with your dog it is important to not let them eat mushrooms. If you suspect your pet has eaten a mushroom, please call a veterinarian!
 
Ruby learned the hard way when her parents caught her eating a mushroom from her back yard. She was rushed to Gold Country where we induced vomiting and got the effective identification to find out that this was one of the non toxic mushrooms. 🍄🍄‍🟫🍄

This is Spud he recently received the BOAS surgery at our clinic! Listen to the difference of Spud’s breathing before and after the procedure! ✨Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS)✨
The anatomical variations of the skull bones result in abnormalities of the upper respiratory system. Overall, there can be varying degrees of breathing difficulty depending on the extent of the abnormalities.
⭐️The major findings include: 1. Stenotic nares are congenitally small nostrils that may also collapse as the dog inhales 2. An elongated soft palate can cause obstruction of airflow into the larynx. 3. Everted laryngeal saccules refers to tissue near the vocal cords that is pulled inward during inhalation and can block airflow. 4. Some dogs may have a windpipe that is proportionally too narrow and is referred to as a hypoplastic trachea✨Talk to your veterinarian to discuss best options for your pet✨

Charm has successfully gone through heartworm treatment after testing positive a couple of months ago! 🫀🪱Heartworm disease is a serious, potentially fatal condition in pets caused by parasitic worms called Dirofilaria immitis. Spread through mosquito bites, these worms can grow up to 14 inches long and live in the heart, lungs, and arteries of infected animals. Prevention is key!
