Family is coming to visit soon—and they’re bringing their dog! Since it’s been a few years since Rylee has had another dog in the house, we decided to get a head start on helping her prepare. Robin and Maya stopped by recently for a practice visit, and they were a huge help! Rylee was pretty excited, so we’ll be working on helping her feel more relaxed when another dog is around. Anyone else been through this? 🖐️

PATRICK~This little Beagle type boy is middle aged (best guess based on tooth discoloration) and missing half his tail. His abdomen was bloated the day we did photos and we are not sure if he is wormy or has something going on. He may have some food aggression and resource guarding issues, we have seen some of that behavior in the shelter and we want to be sure he goes someplace safe for him where he has the ability to decompress with no small kids and only safe dogs. We hope this is only a stress behavior but we do not know so we want a new person/family/rescue to be prepared. Patrick is a typical Beagle, all nose with a dog attached. He needs to be leash walked until you see if he is a fence climber, jumper, digger. He is sweet and friendly, he was happy to take treats and allow me to take treats from his space. When I returned him to his kennel he had food in his dish and he was protective and grumbley. Once the food was removed he was fine.
