Our Selection Process
The first step to acquiring a Bearabella Golden Retriever is to fill out an application. It is located on the Litter and Available Pages of the website at www.bearabellagoldens.com and is pinned at the top of the Bearabella Golden Retriever page. You must fill it out in its entirety to be considered as a future home for one of my fur kids. Filling out an application does NOT automatically make you eligible for a puppy or dog.
If you are approved, I will reach out to you to let you know we are expecting puppies or have a litter on the ground. A phone conversation is usually in order but not mandatory. Availability will depend on the litter size, how many boys and girls there are, and where you are on the waiting list so the sooner you get on it the better. Being on the waiting list does NOT reserve a puppy; it simply means you have been approved as a future home and will be notified according to where you fall on it.
I do not take reservations or deposits until a week or two after puppies arrive as I am not comfortable taking people’s money unless I am sure I have something to give them. I will send out an email notification with all the litter information, selection process, pick up dates, etc and how to reserve one at that time. Reservations are first come first serve as to how deposits are received. I can NOT hold any puppies without a deposit out of fairness to my other clients.
All breeding dogs have their health clearances for hips, elbows, eyes and hearts along with all their genetic testing. I re certify their eyes and hearts yearly. All this information can be found on their pedigree pages in the K9 Data base and in the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and Paw Print databases for verification.
You can find Litter announcements, pictures and videos of the parents and the babies on the Bearabella Golden Retriever page. It is a public page so anyone can see it. I will post when the girls are bred, when they are due, and what they have on there so please watch it to stay informed. I also post daily videos and pictures so you can watch the babies as they grow.
Please note that all breedings are done by artificial insemination and the girls have c sections to ensure the safe arrival of the babies. The front dew claws on the puppies are also removed.
Once I know who is getting puppies, I will send out a list of things they will need to get for their new puppy or dog, my puppy packet information, and whatever the litter theme is so you can pick out a registered name for your new baby.
The puppies are painted with nail polish as a form of identification. The girls are painted between their shoulders and the boys are painted on their butts.
When the puppies turn six weeks old I begin to evaluate them. I first pick out any show puppies that might be going to show homes or staying with me, and then I decide which puppy I feel best fits with each client. This is based on the personality of the puppy, what my clients are looking for in their new Golden, their lifestyle, and activity level. As a responsible breeder it is extremely important that I match the right puppy with the right client as my goal is to put my babies in forever homes. My clients do not know the puppies like I do which is why they do not pick which puppy is going to be theirs; I do.
The puppies will have been dewormed and de parasited multiple times, will have their first multiple vaccine, will be microchipped, vet checked, and litter box trained when they leave here. Their vaccine schedule is written out for life and will be in your puppy folder along with a ton of other information. A report card from my vet will also be included.
After all the puppies have gone to their new homes I will do their AKC registrations and register their microchips in the AKC Reunite database. These charges are included in the pricing.
Thank you for your interest in a beautiful and healthy Bearabella Golden Retriever!
