Happy Birthday Patton!

4 years old today. We bought Patton in April, 2023 to bring some diversity into our breeding program.

He spent the next two and half years with handlers- first Greg Strong and then Zack Helmer and June Beckwith.

He came home to us three months ago after a great show career including a BIS, many Terrier Group 1 and other placements and achieving Grand Champion Silver level. He has also sired three litters so far.

Patton has quickly adapted to home life playing nonstop with his daughter Nellie Claire and all of his squeaky toys. he is the best companion dog. We are just in love with this young man!

He still occasionally helps with Junior Handlers in the show ring and will be in Perry,GA on May 8 showing and hopefully running Cat trials.

Yesterday the Draco/Nellie Claire litter celebrated their 3 month birthday. Here are pics of the pups on their way to their new families! So thrilled to have these with such fantastic people!
Here are Kimi, Gryphon, Guinevere, Draco and Archie with their peeps.

The sixth member of this litter, “gold girl” is going to live with Zack and June and lead the life of a show girl. I guess we need to get her properly named!

Say hello to one of our new pups that will be living in Atlanta with a dear dear friend and former colleague of mine. This is Gryphon Roc’s Lady Guinevere.
I think her beauty is befitting of her regal name.

We have a new Champion! Pending AKC approval please meet CH Gryphon Roc’s Busy Lady. She is very appropriately named as she is always in motion. Her call name is “Nellie Claire” named after another busy lady-a close family friend of my parents in my hometown of Rock Hill named Nellie Claire Brown.

Her sire is our Patton:

Her dam is our Bertie:
CH Gryphon Roc’s Captain Kid at Abbeyrose.

We will be looking to find her a pet home where she can still come back a couple of months to whelp litters with us.

Great start to 2025 for Gryphon Roc’s Patton! He won the Terrier Group today at the Clemson Kennel Club show in Pendleton, SC.

Many thanks to AKC breed judge Brian Meyer and to Terrier Group judge Debra Thornton for recognizing Patton as an exemplary Welsh Terrier.
