We’ve heard some confusion from our last post, and we want to clear it up.

We ARE still seeing sick pets during our normal business hours. If your pet is ill or injured, call us first — we’ll do our best to fit you in.

The ONLY time we will refer you elsewhere during business hours is if we do not have adequate time or staffing to provide the level of care your pet deserves.

After many years of providing after-hours emergency support, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue this service, effective immediately. As a primary care practice, we are not an emergency facility. We do not have the specialized staffing necessary after hours to safely manage the volume and complexity of urgent cases across the Valley and surrounding communities.

To ensure you continue to receive timely care, we have arranged the following alternatives:

VetTriage Telehealth – We remained partnered with VetTriage, a 24/7 telehealth service staffed by licensed veterinarians. They can provide immediate guidance, recommend at-home treatment when appropriate, and triage you directly to an emergency hospital if advanced care is needed. The QR code is available at our front desk and on our website.

Emergency Clinic Network – We have compiled a list of trusted emergency and specialty hospitals within a 50-mile radius that are fully equipped to meet urgent and critical care needs. This list is available in our lobby and will be pinned on our page.

Our commitment to your pet’s health during regular business hours remains unchanged. For all routine, preventive, and medical needs, we are here for you.

We understand this change may be difficult, and we appreciate your understanding as we focus on providing the highest quality primary care.

If you’ve been to our Animal Hospital you know Our office manager, Andrea. Andi isn’t just one small part of the Hospital — she’s the backbone and the heart that keeps it going.

Andi is one of a kind and has the answer to everything. There’s truly nothing she can’t do. One minute she’s helping the ladies up front with reception, the next she’s in back supporting the Doctors and Technicians. And all the while, she’s making sure the hospital has exactly what it needs so an animal never goes without.

She sees the big picture and the tiny details. She keeps us stocked, scheduled, supported, and sane. If the Hospital runs smoothly, chances are it’s because Andi’s behind it.

Today we celebrate Chris❤️🐾

If you’ve been to our animal hospital, you know Christina — or Chris, as we call her. If there’s a job that needs doing, chances are Chris has already done it.

She’s one of our 5 favorite ladies that helps keep the front desk calm while the phones are ringing, then turning around to help the Doctors and Technicians out back with restraint, labs, or whatever the moment calls for. From client care to patient care, Chris really does it all — and she does it with skill and heart.

Her ability to jump between roles, solve problems on the fly, and support every part of the team is what helps keeps our clinic running. We’re so thankful for everything you accomplish every single day, Chris. Please leave some words of encouragement for her, she deserves it❤️

If you’ve been to our animal Hospital, you absolutely know Aubrey. Compassionate and down to earth. She’s been with us for many years, and we’re extremely grateful for her presence and hard work every single day.

Aubrey brings a light to our team that no one else could. It’s in the way she completely changes a hard day with a laugh or smile, the way she stays calm in the chaos, and the way her kindness makes both people and patients feel safe. That light is uniquely hers, and it makes all of us better.

Today we celebrate Celeste❤️

If you’ve been to our Animal Hospital, you know Celeste. Celeste is our certified Cat Whisperer. They say animals are a great judgment of people, and I don’t think we’ve ever had a cat that didn’t love Celeste.

Celeste loves fiercely and advocates for our patients beyond measure. She’s authentic, unapologetically herself, and absolutely a force to be reckoned with when it comes to standing up for what’s best for the animals in our care.

From earning a scared kitty’s trust to making sure no patient’s needs go unheard, Celeste brings passion, and so much heart to our clinic.

This week we’re recognizing our veterinary receptionists — the voices you hear first, the smiles that keep our clinic running, and the calm in the chaos.

You juggle ringing phones, worried pet parents, difficult scheduling, emergency check-ins, and medical records, all while showing compassion during some of a family’s hardest moments. You triage, problem-solve, and comfort, keeping the entire clinic flowing with patience and heart.

You are the multitasking hard workers who are essential to veterinary medicine and the first line of compassion for everyone who walks through our doors.

To our favorite ladies up front: your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. We literally couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for being the heart of Athens Animal Hospital❤️🐾
