* The app provides an estimate for the service as a guideline. Conditions that will increase the price are:
* matting over the body and legs that require time a consuming shave and special care. Please notify me if you think this may be the case so that I can allow for an adequate amount of time to care for your pet's needs. Sometimes things happen and before we know it, our pets have gotten into worse shape than we thought. I am happy to help get your pet back into top form.
* breeds with long coats that require detangling or deshedding
* fleas or tick treatments
* areas with infection, crusty flaking skin, or yeast build up which require extra cleaning, antiseptics, and products to soothe any irritations.
* excessive dirt and oil requiring more that the normal two bathings before the water runs clear of dirt, debris, or odors.
* administering veterinary prescribed products as a medicated treatment.
* aggressive behavior requiring an assistant and/or special safety equipment in order to complete the service.

* At my salon, there are other pets in the same area. Therefore:
* Verification from your veterinarian, or a copy of your pet's vaccines record with administration and due dates is required and will be kept in your file:
DHPP
Rabies (1 year or 3 year should be specified)
Bordetella
Documentation can be obtained directly from your veterinarian's office and uploaded by file or photo into the Lake Ida South Grooming app. If you do not have a copy on hand, or you can request their office send a copy by PDF file to [email protected].

* If fleas or ticks are observed while being groomed, your pet will receive a topical treatment to eliminate the pests on your pet and in the salon at an additional cost to you. If you do not wish for your pet to be treated you will be required to pick up the pet at whatever stage the grooming process is in at that time, and provide the cost of services to that point and treat the salon for pests. It is best to obtain flea and tick preventatives from your veterinarian to insure your pet remains pest free before their visit to the salon.

* If you have two pets, they can both be dropped off and picked up at the same time since it will likely be most convenient for you. This will be the first/earliest appointment scheduled.

* If you are elderly, disabled, or unable to drive and live within the city of Athens. I can provide Pick-Up, Delivery, Early Drop-Off, or Extended Stay services due to your work schedule, please let me know in advance. These services can be provided for a small fee, but must be arranged ahead of time to insure adequate workers, vehicles, comfortable accommodations for your pet, and the time needed to provide these special services. To insure that your pet will be the last visitor of the day, please schedule their appointment no earlier than 3pm. This will likely be the last Full Grooming Service appointment available for the day, and is required if:
- You have a pet that is fearful of being in a crate, uncomfortable around other dogs, or is fearful of the grooming process which may cause other pets to be nervous.
- Your pet cannot receive the required vaccines required due to health issues. Other suitable arrangements can be made to help in special circumstances. Please text me (256) 278-6530 or send an email to sally@macpacdanes describing your concerns. We can find a good solution for you and your pet in the grooming salon.

* I work from my home, 1005 Lindsay Lane South. This is a red brick home at the northeast corner of Lindsay Lane and Missy Leigh Lane. Entry is through the front door and there is a parking pad to the right of the entry. This allows you to make a 3-point turn and safely exit the property in a forward direction.
ALL pets should be on a leash or in a small kennel. This allows us to take them for a potty break when needed and provide safety during the transfer. Lindsay Lane is a very busy road and only a few people obey the speed limit. When pets are in an unfamiliar place, their reaction can be different from when they are home. Running is likely their first instinct. I will be happy to meet you at your vehicle with a lead if you forget yours.

* Information for your pet's file will be completed at drop off on your first visit. Please bring copies of your pet's vaccinations. Information for your pet's file will be completed at drop off on your first visit. It will take approximately 5 minutes to go over everything, assess your pet’s current coat condition, and determine how to accomplish the best service for your dog. Please remember to bring copies of your pet's vaccinations.

* As your pet's grooming is completed you will receive a text message. Your invoice will be added to your account and can be paid online. All forms of payment can also be received in the salon. Paw Partner is the host for our new app that I pay for monthly to keep track of all clients, automates all emails and reminders, lets me know when my client roster is full, automatically contacts those on a waiting list when an opening is available, and much more. This is my business lifesaver; my secretary, but she is ruthless! If two appointments are missed without proper cancellation or rescheduling, the service drops the client to an inactive status and will not allow an appointment to be made.

* There is a missed appointment fee of $25-$40 depending on the type of service and size of your pet which will need to be paid before booking another appointment.

* Late arrivals beyond 30 minutes without a call to the salon are assumed to be forgotten. You may no longer have the appointment available since those waiting for a cancellation have likely been contacted to take the appointment. After the 3rd missed appointment your account will become inactive and replaced by another client on the waitlist. I simply cannot afford to pay an employee when there is no pet to work with. These things can cause a price increase and I try to keep things reasonable.

* A minimum of 24-hour notification is required for cancellation to allow another pet on standby the opportunity to be groomed in its place.

* Many forms of payment can be made by check, cash, the use of a debit or credit card, or PayPal. There is a 2.5 - 3% bank fee that I incur for use of credit, debit, or PayPal payments. The Returned check fee is $30 to cover bank charges. Thank you for your help in providing the best care and services for all Lake Ida South Grooming clients and their beloved furry pets. They quickly become near and dear to my heart and I want nothing but the best for each and every one. Lake Ida South Grooming

*Please leave a message. There are many times that we are unable to hear the phone during drying or we are unable to leave the pet we are working with in order to answer the phone. I know you want it that way for your pet too.

I’m getting better each day post-surgery. The process is slow, but has been worth every effort. I finally feel like there is hope to return to my grooming table, but it will still be a long while and I will definitely be limited in what I can do.
I hope to have a new salon ready sometime this fall/winter depending upon how long it takes to get the new facility ready and how my healing progresses.
I must limit myself to part-time and smaller curly-coated dogs.

I’m not a candidate for disc replacement surgery. Looking into my only other option, fusion. 😭

Due to my extended health leave, I am having to temporarily pause my PawPartner account. It will be 2025 before it is reactivated. My MacPacDanes website and email have also been disabled. Client communications can be made through my personal email and text. If you do not have this information and need to contact me, please let me know.

Update:
After 20 months of deteriorating conditions, I am having to fight to get this surgical repair done on my back.
The neurosurgeon I saw in Huntsville a couple of weeks ago does not provide disc replacement. I will have to go out of state to have it done. I was warned by that doctor that it would take at least 2 surgeries using the older method. I would be out of work for a much longer time and there is no guarantee that I can fully recover my flexibility or have any relief from pain. I simply can’t have it render me useless in the salon which is why I was looking for the newer procedure at that office.
Also, my new insurance is causing a roadblock by requiring I repeat some failed procedures that I had tried a year ago as a self-paying patient.
It appears this is going to take more time than I had imagined. Just getting an appointment with my old orthopedic doctor to get another MRI and back injections required by insurance, or another neurosurgeon is at least a month long wait.
The good news is that I have less pain and swelling that causes loss of use of my left leg by resting and simply not bending & lifting like I had been while working, definitely no sitting up or it pinches my nerve root. I’m thankful for any little relief although it’s still rather limiting, and don’t know how my insurance company will use that to postpone my surgery further.
I was also told that several policies will not cover disc replacement because it is a relatively newer procedure. It’s totally up to them whether I am able to recover and when. I finally got insurance in order to have this done and now I’m at their mercy while they deplete my bank account with high dollar premiums. It seems to be their standard operating procedure for anyone in my situation. I know I’m not alone, just rather surprised by it all.
Thank you for checking on me. With the temporary closure, I am able to manage my injury, work through more physical therapy, and take better care of myself. One way or another, I am determined to see some progress.
