The cost of caring for pets is definitely rising. It used to be the cost of owning a horse was a major consideration. Dogs have joined them. Probably cats too except I don't have any to compare.

While it was not our long term plan, we are sorry to say Alternatives Pet Sitting is discontinuing its services for now. We care about our customers and miss our time with our friends. And we appreciate those of you who have repeatedly invited us to make an exception for them. But the expenses to be a professional pet sitter are more than we want to underwrite until people are comfortable needing more services.

This is a time when all of the trauma and oversights, as well as wisdom of the past eons in which humanity appeared on earth are making their presence known. Business as usual is not an option. Now is our opportunity to celebrate our wisdom and recognize and heal the damage we have made on ourselves and this planet

For now I am working to do my best, as small as that might be, to see that that future is one that is healthy, interconnected, and bountiful for all life on earth.
