How We Got Here:
Our little family moved to South Ashland in June '22 and we quickly realized how vast the community cat population is in Northern KY and the Tri-State area. Shortly after moving into our house, we rescued two pregnant cats that seemed to take a liking to our porch. My partner and I are both from different areas that had tons of resources for community cats, so upon moving to Ash
land, we were quite disappointed to find out the cost of TNR programs in the area and the lack of resources available. What started as 3 indoor cats, quickly grew to 10, as we failed to rehome the kittens and their moms. We are officially a crazy cat family, and joke that we humans only have a small section of the house, while the rest is the cat rescue! Our Goal:
We have been taking cats for TNR programs since moving here, but it adds up quickly and resources are scarce! With the cheapest TNR service in the immediate areas all costing a minimum of $60 per cat, we know this hurts the community and residents of the Tri-State area. Our residents are suffering from the growing population of stray and feral cats in our neighborhoods, and unfortunately the City of Ashland does not allocate funds for non-profits/rescues to help curb this problem. Our Goal, at Molly & Gib TNR, is to help raise funds and partner with local TNR programs to allocate funds specifically for TNR programs. Any money raised through donations, or planned events, will go directly to TNR services for as many community cats as possible. We are hopeful that our services will reduce the overwhelming community cat population and alleviate stress and financial strain from our residents.
