I am mind blown at the amount of people I get inquiring on lessons that ā€œhave tried messaging a lot of places but no one will take beginnersā€ā€¦ā€¦. Did we all forget where we came from? Thank God nearly 30 years ago someone welcomed this beginner with open arms and gave me every opportunity to become who I wanted to be. Iā€™ll never consider myself too good, too busy, or too advanced to teach those wanting to start, because without them, the industry collapses. Last night my arena was full of those former beginners riding under the lights enjoying the same horse/rider relationship that the advanced rider doesā€¦..

So donā€™t be afraid to start up beginners, enjoy the journey, youā€™ll be amazed what can happen and awaits for you outside of your comfort zone

We just love when a student hits a personal recordā€¦. We certainly werenā€™t aiming for it, but it was a happy accident. This is a very difficult exerciseā€¦. A series of steep cross-rails and verticals of varying height set on a 20 meter circle to get the horse off the forehand, slow down and sit up. After you complete the circle you go straight down the line on the long side to a beefier vertical with my goal being to get her to sit up and look through the bridle, giving she had started getting a bit sloppy lately and clip with her toes. After she completed, I felt we were in the neighborhood of her highest jump, which we were at 3ā€™ 6ā€ā€¦. And she didnā€™t even rub it. This exercise concluded the lesson as the mare sat down and exploded over the fence vs jumping flat and dragging her toesā€¦. Mission accomplished and great job girls!šŸ’Ŗ

Today is vet dayā€¦.

We have a lot of supporters out there who like to help fund vaccines for our disabled and older horsesā€¦. These horses receive the care they need regardless, but if you are interested in supporting and golden oldie like these two toothless gentlemen, Clarence and Barneyā€¦. or one of our blind residents like lovely River, the cost of their rabies vaccines run $30 each, and $52 each for their 6-way FluVac. We are NOT a 501c3 and all of our residents are privately funded. We so appreciate those who support the mission here, so if youā€™d like to send a horse a vaccine, you can do so via any of the methods below:

Seeing Max jump was not on my bingo card for this year, or any year honestlyā€¦. We were lucky to convince him over a pole on the ground, but heā€™s trusted Aubrie wholeheartedlyā€¦. I got Max back in 2020, I had been his caretaker for 6 months while working at another barn, only to find out heā€™d been sold to a horse trader and headed to auction. I looked for him for over a month until he surfaced on Craigslist, and I went and bought him for $700 to secure his future, but Aubrie has been the only one to tap in to his heart. The former Amish cart horse is officially a jumper. Keep up the good work kid šŸŽ

We are looking for a rare working student/boarder opportunityšŸ¤©ā€¦.

We are looking for someone to take on help with basic stall cleaning on 5-10 stalls and watering 3-4 days a week, in return for board, lessons, etc, trailering to shows, etc.

Indoor/outdoor arena, wash stall with hot/cold water, sawdust, secure tack room, trailering to local shows as well as horse trials and cross-country schooling in Lexington.

We utilize 3 different vet clinics and have them scheduled on rotation on site 1-2x per month or as needed. Board includes use of the Theraplate, hay, basic grain, stall cleaning and administering of meds/supplements as needed. We utilize our friends at Cosequin to configure plans for each individual horses needs as well as transport to equine chiropractors. Barn is owned and run by a multi modality certified equine sports therapist and trainer of 15 years.

We are flexible and will work with what you can do, if you think you may be a good fit, shoot us a message!

Quite possibly the greatest glow up story of all timeā€¦.. June 6th unable to stand unassisted to August 11th. Nearly toothless, sick and unable to eat. This one has absolutely worn me out but nevertheless an unexpected bond between myself and an old soul that was just supposed to be a pasture pet in the back fields. This one has definitely earned a place in my heart front and center.
