It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that Natalie and I announce the permanent closure of our beloved Fur the Love of Dog Spa.
To our cherished clients:
You have been the heart and soul of our business. Many of you have trusted us to care for your pets their entire lives, and we have loved every moment of watching them grow and being part of their journeys. Over the years, you have become like family to us, and the thought of no longer being able to provide your fur babies with the care they deserve has weighed heavily on our hearts.
When Natalie and I took the leap to open this salon after the sale of Waggers, many of you were just as excited as we were. You experienced the build of this shop with us and supported us every step of the way. Knowing how much love, energy, and care we poured into creating this space makes this closure even harder to accept.
Please know that we tried and fought with everything we had to keep our doors open. From the very day Hurricane Helene struck, we began battling to save our salon. Despite our tireless efforts, we lost that battle just one week before Christmas. Having recently celebrated our one-year anniversary, Natalie and I were excited and hopeful as we planned for the holiday season with you all. This is not the news we ever wanted to share, but circumstances have left us with no other options.
The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene left our building without running water, making it impossible to continue operations. In the midst of this crisis, we faced another unexpected challenge: our landlord, Larry Gragg, refused to provide a hard copy of our lease—an essential document for applying for small business aid. Despite countless requests and legal consultation, we were unable to secure the support we needed to save our business.
We want to assure you that we will share more details in a future post to provide clarity and warn the community of the business practices we encountered in these unprecedented times. It is our hope that no one else has to face the challenges we endured.
The reality of this closure has left Natalie and me facing a complete career change after dedicating over 22 years of our lives to this industry. We are still navigating what the future holds, and though answers feel scarce right now, we remain grateful for the memories we’ve created with you and your pets.
Thank you for your unwavering support, your trust, and the joy you’ve brought into our lives. You are the reason we poured our hearts into every moment, and we will forever cherish the bond we’ve shared with each of you and your furry companions.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
With deep graditude and love,
Liz & Natalie
