Catsbury Park A 501(c)3 non-profit rescue and New Jerseys first cat cafe!
(1304)

We are a New Jersey 501(c) non-profit corporation with the goal of helping as many kittens and cats find loving homes through various channels. As many of you who followed us on social media might know, we started fostering out of our home in the summer of 2016 and were able to place 37 kittens with forever homes within our first 2 months. We also want to create a space where the public can learn

about cats, interact with them, and potentially take them home. We still hope to continue fostering kittens but Catsbury Park Tea House & Cat Lounge itself will focus on adult cats who, while available for adoption, are residents of the cafe and interact with customers. We also feel that Asbury Park, our favorite place, needs a tea lounge and have focused on providing high-end tea service to provide the best experience for those who come to spend time with our cats!

📖
JEFFREY, JUDY, AND JR!!!

YUP - a triple adoption!!!!

Jeffrey and Judy came to us in January as tiny kittens after they were noticed at a colony someone had been feeding. They were still little and looked like they needed some TLC, so they came into our care and went straight to foster, where they could grow healthy, loved, and ready for adoption.

JR came to us in April as an owner surrender. This sweet boy arrived hoping for a second chance and a forever home where he would be loved and cared for the way he deserves.

Then came Jacky.

She applied hoping to adopt a bonded pair of siblings, and Jeffrey and Judy were exactly what she was looking for. But when she came to visit the lounge, JR caught her eye too. A little later, she let us know that she didn’t just want to give Jeffrey and Judy their forever home. She wanted JR to come with them.

You can imagine how excited our team was to get that email!!!!

Every adoption is a win, but seeing three cats leave together to a wonderful, loving home? That is a huge one.

Jacky, thank you for opening your heart and your home to not one, but three cats who needed it so much. We are so excited for Jeffrey, Judy, and JR to grow up loved, spoiled, and safe with you.

Wishing you all many years of love, happiness, and purrs!

🎂 Hi everyone - please help us to wish CAIT M a very happy birthday today!!! 🎂

Cait’s passion for all animals is something to admire, for sure. This woman goes above and beyond every single day, advocating for the animals. Being their voice, their caretaker, and their angel. Catsbury is beyond lucky to have Cait with us, her expertise and knowledge - and her heart - have saved countless lives, and we absolutely couldn’t do the work we do here without her.

CAIT WE LOVE YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Meet Michelangelo

Michelangelo has been in Catsbury’s care since January 2025, when he and his brother, Donatello, were found by their foster parents, Melissa and Alex.

The boys were still young, so we brought them into our care, got them settled, and followed our normal vetting protocols. When it came time for their neuter appointments, we learned that both boys had tested positive for FeLV, also known as feline leukemia virus.

Because FeLV can be contagious to other cats, and Catsbury Park is a communal adoption lounge, we knew we wouldn’t be able to bring the boys into the lounge to meet potential adopters.

But we were not giving up on them.

Our friends at generously offered to house both boys in their adoption suite, giving them a safe place to be seen and loved. Eventually they found an adopter and we were all so excited! Unfortunately, the adoption did not move forward after the applicant became concerned about gingivitis noted in their medical records.

So we were back at square one.

And then another blow came a few weeks later when Donatello was rushed to the vet for trouble breathing and ultimately passed away from complications of the virus. We were devastated beyond comprehension. Heartbroken for Donatello, and so sad for Michelangelo, who had lost his brother and the only buddy he had ever really known.

Thanks to his incredible fosters, Michelangelo is safe, loved, and cared for every day. But he still deserves what every cat deserves: a forever home of his own.

Now we need your help finding that for him.

Please share Michelangelo’s story. We know there is someone out there that is able to open their home to this sweet little boy. He has been patiently waiting a long time, and he has so much love left to give - despite all the loss he’s experienced in his life.

If you’d like to learn more about Michelangelo, please email us: [email protected]

SLURPIE!!!!

In July of last year, we pulled some cats from AHS Tinton Falls. They had a little FIV+ kitten with a weird eyeball, so of course we had to take her in that pull and give her a chance at the lounge.

She was little when she came to us, and as she grew we and our vet teams decided the best course of action was to remove that bad eye; it hadn’t fully developed and she wasn’t able to see out of it, so to avoid further complications she had it removed. She healed up great, like nothing ever happened - and kept bouncing around the lounge waiting for her forever home. Which honestly, our entire team was not able to figure out a reason as to why this sweet little girl was still here with us.

Well, our answer walked in the door last week when Michelle decided she was ready to add another member to her furry family. She had her heart set on Slurpie and when she told our team she was the one - you probably could have heard all of us cheering from our respective locations. Michelle, THANK YOU for coming along for this girl. She waited so very patiently and we know she is in the absolute best hands ever with you - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving her that. We’re so happy she is finally home.

ADOPTION STORY
📖
CLEO!

In February of this year, we worked with our friends at and took in a few cats from their foster program so they could have a better chance of being seen and adopted at the lounge.

Cleo made it very clear to us pretty quickly that she preferred being an only cat. So naturally, she was upgraded to the VIP Apartment at Catsbury, where she wouldn’t have to share her space, her things, or her spotlight with anyone else (Cleo very much lived up to her calico stereotype!!)

When Danielle applied to adopt with us, she shared that she and her family had recently had to say goodbye to their cat. They had rescued her, and in her honor, they wanted to give another older cat a forever home.

Then they met Cleo - and they knew she was the one.

We got to make it official over the weekend and sent Cleo home with Danielle and her family. We can’t thank you enough for giving an older gal her forever home. We know Cleo is forever grateful too!
