The VRI team recently made a presence in beautiful Bruges, Belgium, at the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 🇧🇪

From presenting our latest clinical trial findings on equine in vitro embryo production to collaborating with minds from around the world, this week was an incredible reminder of why we broaden the horizons of reproductive science.

Our biggest takeaway from the symposium? 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝘆𝗼𝘀.

True success requires treating our patients holistically. It takes a dedicated team, deep clinical understanding, and a lifetime of veterinary expertise to truly make things work.

Winter’s on the way, but we haven’t slowed down one bit 🐝ᴡᴇ’ʀᴇ ꜱᴛɪʟʟ ʙᴜꜱʏ ᴀꜱ ʙᴇᴇꜱ 🐝

Our team is still running OPU and ICSI, producing and vitrifying embryos all under one cozy roof.

We’re putting in the work now so the 2027 season starts strong. Breeders who plan early get first pick of the calendar.

We were proud to be at the YCA dinner and sale celebrating the milestone. A big thank you to the Cal Poly Young Cattlemen’s Association for keeping this tradition strong and for building the next generation of the industry along the way.

Stories bring us together and at VRI we love to be a part of yours. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙞 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡’𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚𝙨. Pictured here as a foal, she was with Dr. Lauren Windfield from day one.

When Kali Girl passed unexpectedly, Dr. Windfield made the decision to pursue the option of 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩-𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩. Our team received the ovaries, processed and collected the oocytes before performing ICSI, successfully producing Kali Girl embryos.

A week post transfer resulted in a confirmed pregnancy, the fruit of labor across oocyte retrieval, ICSI, and embryo transfer, 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢.

And alas, a confirmed heartbeat, one that is carrying Kali Girl’s story into a new generation and a new chapter with this foaling next spring. If you have a mare that means this much to you, our team can walk you through your options for keeping her line going.

Big moments call for good company, and we were proud to share the room with longtime friends and respected colleagues from around the world: 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳 of Arteq in Mexico, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝 of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Canada, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐯𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐨 of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco in Brazil.

Through our 𝐕𝐑𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, we’re constantly working to improve and learn more in the name of science — because every discovery we make is another way to help our breeders get the most out of their programs.
