PSA- I’m on the record as saying that MOST of the time if you spray in the fall you will not need to spray in the spring. After the dry summer and fall we had last year, some w**ds just didnt take the herbicide in as well as when they are activly growing. This is one of the years that a spring/ early summer spray may be necessary. Mother Nature is unpredictable and w**ds will always find a way to grow and spread when you give them any leeway.
Almost all big companies like their customers to sign up for a 4, 5, or 6 step program that has a spring spray and a fall spray, multiple fertilizers, and an insecticide. It covers them up down and sideways from curve balls.
To really top it off, we are seeing more winter kill than we ever have due to the dry fall and very little snow cover to insulate. Newer seeding has been hit a lot harder than more established grasses.
Water is your lawns best friend, it may be time to invest in a sprinkler and hose.
Thank you!
