During the winter, it is important to check on your home’s electrical setup.
Check out these suggested tips so that you can keep your home cozy and protected.

• Inspect your heating equipment. Whether you have electrical heaters, baseboards, make sure they are clean and safe to operate.

• Keep heaters at least 3 feet away from curtains, furniture, or any flammable materials.

• Never use extension cords with space heaters!

• Make sure you are unplugging any heaters before leaving your home or any room you are not in.

• Make sure you are not overloading your outlets and be sure to unplug anything that is not in use from your outlet to avoid overloading.

• Inspect your cords for any wear/tear.

• Check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries.

• Check-up on your generator maintenance and ensure it’s clean, free from any dust or debris.

• Test-run your generator periodically and make sure it’s in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
