HOME Rescue is a dedicated team of caring volunteers (with no paid staff) whose goal is to reduce the population of homeless, neglected or unwanted animals by raising awareness through community education. There are roughly 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and dogs (about one every 13 seconds) put down in U.S. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets. Spay/neuter is a prov

en way to reduce pet overpopulation, ensuring that every pet has a family to love them. We participate in community outreach programs and adoption events that advocate early spay and neuter programs and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts. We depend on donations to further our efforts and virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals nurtured by our fosters. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of pets beyond the adoption process. Working together we can provide loving homes to animals that otherwise would live in hunger and fear. Earlier this summer, THLN announced that the Texas Legislature had appropriated $13 million to launch a statewide spay and neuter pilot program. Since then, THLN has been in ongoing conversations with shelters, veterinarians, and spay/neuter program operators across Texas, gathering feedback and sharing it with the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as they make decisions on how to structure this new program.

Though details aren’t finalized yet, we’ll keep monitoring and advocating for the much-needed spay/neuter resources that help communities better serve pets and the people who care for them.

As most of you know by now, we have a strong chance for severe winds tonight. The shelter is still operating over capacity for dogs. We are asking all residents to please take the extra precautions to keep your pets safe. Please check your fences before letting your dogs outside. We love hearing from our adopters!! Tucker was adopted in November of 2023, and has really come out of his shell. His mom says he is spoiled with all the toys he wants, has new friends when he goes to doggy daycare, and a cat sister he sometimes annoys. ☺️

We are so excited to share, 26 community cats were spayed or neutered at today's Feral Cat Sunday clinic at Arlington Animal Services!!!!
