The Lost Dog Café has been serving up great pizza, hot sandwiches and beer from around the world in Arlington’s Westover neighborhood since 1985. Well known as a place to get great food at a great price, the café also serves up a hefty slice of compassion with each pizza. Café owners Ross Underwood and Pam McAlwee have been rescuing stray dogs and cats almost as long as they have been in business

and the effort continues. Since 2001, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation has saved the lives of over 18,000 dogs and cats, helping them connect with loving families and forever homes. In May of 2009, the Lost Dog Cafe’s own Wes Clough, Jim Barnes, Mike Barnes, and Mike Danner began to grow the organization leveraging the great menu and well established neighborhood good will with the same value and mission to rescue dogs and cats. This effort has resulted in a second, third and fourth Lost Dog Café store in South Arlington (May 2009), McLean (January 2011), and Dunn Loring (Summer 2012). Each of the guys have been part of our Lost Dog family since the 90s and have a personal understanding of what makes the Lost Dog Café so special to its valued customers.

A Message to Our Columbia Pike Family 💛🐾

In is with the saddest regret to say that after many wonderful years of serving our community, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors of Lost Dog Café at Columbia Pike.

We want to take a moment to say thank you — to every loyal customer, every friendly face, and every wagging tail that made this place so special. Your support, kindness, and memories mean the world to us. A heartfelt thanks to the community of Columbia Pike.

We’re truly sorry for the sudden news and for anyone disappointed by this closure. This decision was not easy, but it was a tough decision.

Though this chapter ends, the spirit of Lost Dog Café continues at our other locations — and in every smile, story, and slice shared here over the years. 🐶❤️

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for being part of our pack. You all are what made this community so great!

Not only are we serving up delicious eats, but we’re also serving up a hefty slice of compassion for our fellow critters with each meal. Our sister cause, Lost Dog and Cat rescue, gets a piece of the pie each time you stop by, which is why we’ve managed to find more than 30,000 animals a loving home. Whether we’re supporting our community or just giving you a place to hang -- there’s nothing we love more than pouring you a hoppin’ beer, serving gourmet sandwiches and pizzas, and showing you a doggone good time.
