Vaccinate your canines. Keep.your loved ones safe.
🐾 Pet Parents! Here's a friendly (and furry) health alert 🐾
Florida is currently experiencing elevated Parvo activity with over 1,300 confirmed cases statewide (30 in Cape Coral alone!), so the threat is very real.
Parvovirus is a scary, but preventable, virus that can threaten puppies and unvaccinated adult dogs. The good news? Vaccination is your best defense!
Key Facts
The Parvo vaccine is a core vaccine—recommended for all dogs.
Puppies: Start vaccines at 6–8 weeks, booster every 2-4 weeks until at least 16 weeks.
Adults: If unvaccinated or uncertain, get two shots ( vaccines) spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
Boosters: First booster within a year, then every 1-3 years depending on your dog’s potential exposure risk.
Treatment & Prevention
A CPMA monoclonal antibody treatment is a newly developed treatment with a high success rate.
We’ve used this treatment with very good outcomes!
Recently this treatment saved 27 Parvo-infected puppies in Brevard County! However, prevention through vaccination is far safer and more effective.
👉 Tip: Regular veterinary visits build healthier pups and a safer community. Let’s keep our furry family members wagging longer and stronger!
