We are so honored and happy to welcome our new Instructor, Lori Larson. Her credentials and talents are impressive. Just as importantly, her beliefs and attitudes about how horses should be treated and cared for align with ours perfectly. We’re so excited to see what we can build together.
Lori Larson is a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, an Eagala certified Equine Specialist, and is currently working on a PATH Intl. ESMHL (Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning) certification. She has decades of experience as a rider, an instructor, and in rehabilitating rescue horses. She has worked professionally with children and adults on the autism spectrum, with those experiencing life challenges (such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, grief, bullying), and with members of the community of all ages, experience, and abilities.
Her focus is on building a true partnership with a horse and incorporates connection based teaching- such as mindful grooming, intentional groundwork, and liberty work- into all lessons. The relationship built on the ground is a powerful thing and strengthens the skills in the saddle. She also provides her students with a firm foundation in all aspects of horsemanship, equine education, and horse care.
In 2017 she and her husband moved from NYC to renovate a 100 year old horse farm in the Hudson Valley. It was there that Evermore Equestrian Center was born. Lori served as Owner/Director/Head Instructor with a mission statement of “Don’t just survive. Thrive.”
After several amazing years at the NY farm- and so many incredible students, families, and volunteers she was so honored to call part of the Evermore barn family- she, her husband, and their 5 horse herd of rescue turned therapy horses- relocated to Gainesville, Florida. She is excited about this new phase in such a dynamic community.
In early 2026, Lori joined the wonderful people and horses at Canopy Oak Trails in Archer, FL as an instructor and will also be expanding Evermore’s therapeutic mounted program at this beautiful location.
