"Start with something small"

You absolutely can learn . I say that with confidence even if I don't know you. Because natural materials & techniques are intuitive with a speedy learning curve.

But there is always still a learning curve! So don't begin with your dream home. Begin with something small...something that gives you latitude to learn.

I call it my potholder project. The reason: as a child, I wanted to learn to knit. And my mom said, "great, I'll teach you how to make a potholder". And I said no, that my first project was going to be a sweater. To her credit, my mom let me do it. And the sweater that resulted is hilarious. One sleeve long and tight. one short and wide. You get the idea.

And the point is, my mom wanted me to start with a potholder to get my bearings. And then set up the sweater project for success.

I want you to do the same. Start with something small. That it's ok to make mistakes on. And that sets you up for success on your larger project.
